The story line of Alex telling Joey she will never get married again because marriage didn't work is very similar to when Mike said the same thing to Phoebe on Friends. Joey then realizes he might want to get married one day the same way Phoebe that Phoebe did.

Joey: (To Jimmy about getting cold feet) Jim, I understand you getting nervous okay, but you love Gina and she loves you. This was meant to happen, and you know that. Now, if you get on that bus you're gonna regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but definitely the day after tomorrow.
Jimmy: It's just a little mathematical progression all-right. If the girl is 20 when you meet her, you've got 2 years before you gotta talk about getting hitched all-right. If she's 25 you've got a year. If she's 30, when you meet her she's already mad at you that you haven't married her yet.
Joey: Okay Jim, you're crazy. Alex isn't like that.
(Alex runs in wearing her old wedding dress)
Alex: Can you belive it still fits me!
Joey: (to Father O'Neill) Father, you're a man of the cloth. Do you have any spells that make me throw straight?
Joey: I just thought of a funny joke about how me and the Dodgers have so much in common.
Alex: Oh, about how you've both scored a lot in Brooklyn.
Joey: That's better. Mine was just something about balls...
Bobbie: (Joey answers phone) Joey, it's Bobbie. Great news. You're going to throw out the first pitch at the Dodgers game this weekend.
Joey: Oh my God! That's amazing! Bobbie, I don't know how to thank you for that.
Bobbie: Ah, well, I'm forty years old and I do need a baby. Ah. How about this. Get yourself liquored up and meet me at the Peninsula Hotel. I'll be checked in under Fredrico Vaughan. (Joey hangs up phone)
