OK I just like saying that I love the Johnny Bravo show I thought it was funny, smart, and those cartoon chicks were hot. Like come on who wouldn't want to date one of those chicks. But on a much serious note I would like to take some time and explain to you why this episode was so near and dear to my heart.

First of all I know what it's like to lose something that you care so much about it makes you look so good. I two once had my hair gel discontinued, I can honestly say it was one of the worst moments of my entire life. It was earth shattering it was like somebody reached into my chest and pulled out my heart.I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep the only thing I could think about was how much I missed my hair gel. Some of you people might think that it is stupid to feel this way but you are wrong. You've never truly lived until you have found your one and only hair gel. I miss mine every day.

So I just like to say Johnny I feel your pain buddy feel your pain.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (6)

    • Goof: In A Gel For Johnny, Johnny's bill at the $1.03 store was for $14.63, which would be inconsistent with the store's policy to charge only $1.03 for a product. There was no way Johnny could have purchased 14.2 products from the store.

Also, Johnny pays only $12 for this, mentioning to Minsky he can keep the change (even though the bill was not fully paid anyway), handing only four bills. That would mean in the Johnny Bravo universe, there are 3 dollar bills.

    • Bikini Space Planet marks the first appearances of Carl and Pops, both of whom will become trademark characters and regulars later on in the series.

    • A Gel for Johnny is the only episode where Johnny had a name for his hair gel.

    • Bikini Space Planet marks the first time Johnny travels in space and/or arrives on another planet.

    • Look Hard: The bird that is sitting on the ship captain's shoulder during Moby Jerk keeps changing during the episode, from a parrot to an owl, flamingo, and even a bucket of chicken nuggets.

    • Goof: Johnny's hairnet keeps disappearing and reappearing throughout A Gel for Johnny.

  • ALLUSIONS (3)

    • Dragonball Z:

Towards the end of Bikini Space Planet, when the female aliens send Johnny back to Earth inside a metal sphere, the shot of the sphere flying through space is similar to the way the Saiyan warriors in the manga and anime series Dragonball Z traveled.

    • Mel Gibson
      :

At the end of Bikini Space Planet, the female aliens dump Johnny back on Earth after seeing an actor in a movie. The actor was supposed to be Mel Gibson, and the movie was supposed to be a parody of the famous 1995 movie Braveheart, directed by and starring Mel Gibson. The movie won five Academy Awards.

    • Moby Jerk The title of the episode is a parody of the famous novel Moby Dick
