    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • Possible continuity alert: In the segment Noir Johnny, when Johnny is looking through a magnifying glass for clues, he sees an ant and is terrified of the thought of encountering a giant ant. He has already seen such creatures (and in one instance, he was also attacked by one) in two previous episodes this season: A Gel for Johnny (a segment from episode 1), and Johnny's Inferno (a segment from episode 2).

      • Galaxy Boy is the third episode in which Johnny travels through space.

      • In the episode Noir Johnny, Johnny mentions a show about a family named the Tingblads. Tingblad is the last name of one of the directors of the Johnny Bravo show.

    • QUOTES (1)

    • NOTES (0)

    • ALLUSIONS (4)

      • They're for my sister and my mother...

The line the femme fatale uses when Johnny confronts her about stealing toys in the Noir Johnny segment is a spoof on Faye Dunaway's character Evelyn Mulwray from the 1974 movie Chinatown. The entire scene in this cartoon mimics events from the movie, with minor changes to make it funnier, or to avoid certain themes that wouldn't really have fit into a cartoon for kids, such as changing "daughter" to "mother", and Johnny foolishly slapping himself when in the movie the woman was being slapped until she told the truth ("She's my sister and my daughter").

      • Damien: - Character

Damien, seen during Damien's Day Out, is obviously a play on the character Damien from The Omen.

      • Galaxy Boy:

The episode takes its title from one of Carl's favorite fictional shows, and is a complete spoof on the famous science-fiction series Star Trek.

      • Wrath of Kharlok:
Johnny: Oh no! You`re gonna let a space leach burrow into my brain so I`ll become your slave!

This is a reference to the second Star Trek movie, Wrath of Khan (1982). Kharlok: They say snippyless is a dish best served cold. Well, it's very cold in space.

Kharlok is a parody of the character Khan, played by Ricardo Montalbán, on the second Star Trek movie. Many of the lines Kharlok says in this episode are direct references or parodies of Khan's original lines, including this one.
