Johnny: Oh no! You`re gonna let a space leach burrow into my brain so I`ll become your slave! This is a reference to the second Star Trek movie, Wrath of Khan (1982). Kharlok: They say snippyless is a dish best served cold. Well, it's very cold in space. Kharlok is a parody of the character Khan, played by Ricardo Montalbán, on the second Star Trek movie. Many of the lines Kharlok says in this episode are direct references or parodies of Khan's original lines, including this one.
