As seen in the pilot episode, Johnny Bravo, Johnny's martial arts diploma reads: "The Aron City School O Defense certifies that Johnny Bravo has mastered the art of Karate, Ju Jutsu, Aikido, Lai, Tae Kwon Do, Tameshi Giri, He-Do, Bruise Lee, Lehr Do, Chump Chi, Judo, The Girl from Ipanema & Improvisational Dance. Signed by Julie "Boom Boom" Finnerty - President and Founder (some Japanese text) - Martial Art and Step Aerobic Goddess." But, as Johnny mentions, he is still studying Sumo wrestling.
When Johnny is seen entering the Village of Beautiful Women during the episode Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women, one of the Amazon women is seen carrying on a leash a miniature version of the purple gorilla seen in the pilot episode of Johnny Bravo.
One of the most mature jokes on the show: during Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women, when the Amazons are ready to make a "virgin sacrifice" out of Johnny, he protests. He is soon slapped by the Amazons.
On the Island of Beautiful Women, as seen in the episode Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women, you can see a mall, named Isla De Paradiso Mall.
Christopher the elephant slams Johnny on the ground with his trunk four times during the episode Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women.
Christopher, the elephant featured in Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women looks a lot like Snorky, the elephant from the Banana Splits Show (1968).
The Amazon woman who Johnny firsts encounters in the episode Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women is called Melissa, according to the elephant Christopher who calls her by this name.
Johnny guess that the Amazon woman he meets in the episode Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women is called either Trixie, Bambi, Candy and Vicky.
At the beginning of the episode Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women, you can see the ship is moving, even though the captain is seen standing watching the whale next to the tourists.
In the episode Johnny Bravo, a man who looks a lot like Jesus holding a sign saying "Stop cartoon violence" can be seen while Johnny is running around asking people if they have seen the gorilla.
Johnny is seen making a peanut butter and banana sandwich which is deep fried while wearing an apron with the inscription "Kiss the Cook" during the episode Johnny Bravo.
During the episode Johnny Bravo, when the woman uses her taser on Johnny, if you look closely you can see the food inside Johnny's stomach.
In Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women, Johnny mentions Don Knotts. Don Knotts will eventually appear on the show.
"Mr. Monkeyman" marks the first appearance of Jungle Boy. He appeared in only 3 episodes.
Johnny: (While fighting an alligator) Get off of me you son of a handbag!
Christopher: I hate it when people use Don Knotts to deceive me.
Christopher (wearing Johnnys underwear): Don't hate me 'cause I'm beautiful.
Johnny: Hey, take those tidy-whiteys off!
Johnny (to amazon chick): You know I bet your names Mickey 'cause your so fine! Your so fine...(amazon kicks him off screen)
Johnny Bravo originally appeared in two animated shorts created for Cartoon Network's World Premiere Toons block, and was the second animated short to receive his own series, after Dexter's Laboratory.
"Escape to the Blue Lagoon":
In the Jungle Boy episode, King Raymond is seen watching TV. The movie he sees a commercial for is "Escape to the Blue Lagoon", and is apparently a parody of the two movies The Blue Lagoon (1980, directed by Randal Kleiser), and its sequel, Return to the Blue Lagoon (1991, directed by William A. Graham).
Brooke Shields (who starred in the 1980 movie) is also mentioned as being casted along Jungle Boy in this parody.
Bart Simpson:
While the gorilla is mocking Johnny and impersonates him, for a moment he also impersonates Bart Simpson, a famous character from The Simpsons animated series.
