During A Wolf in Chick's Clothing, when Johnny and Fluffy enter the ice-cream shop, the vendor looks a lot like the blond guy from the episode I Used to be Funny and who will later appear in Johnny Bravo Meets Farah Fawcett and Beach Blanket Bravo. However, the guy seen in this episode has red hair instead of being a blond. It is unknown if this was intentional or just a coloring mistake.
The movie Johnny and Fluffy went to see during A Wolf in Chick's Clothing was called "Kirwan Goes to Carmel", and was directed (or starred) Butch Hartman, one of the producers of Johnny Bravo, and Pat Gatz.
Substitute Teacher marks the first and only appearance of Mr. Goodman. He will never be heard of or mentioned again (probably switched out with Master Hama).
Doctor: What's that, Mr. Bravo? You want to donate your liver?
Johnny: Hey wait a minute. Don't I need my liver?
Doctor: No, you've got three of them. Oh, wait... Well nevermind, I'll double check after the autopsy.
A Wolf in Chick's Clothing - Title:
The title of this episode is a spoof on the title of one of Aesop's most famous fables, The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing.
The Love Ship:
During Substitute Teacher, Johnny's karate teacher, Mr. Goodman, is seen watching a TV show called "The Love Ship". This is an allusion to the TV show The Love Boat, which aired between 1977 and 1986, and starred Gavin MacLeod and Fred Grandy.
