The opening musical number from the episode Time of My Life is a parody of the song "Da-Doo", from the movie Little Shop of Horrors (1986), directed by Frank Oz and starring Rick Moranis.

The episode Run Johnny Run is a parody of the German movie, Run Lola Run, (directed by Tom Tykwer), in which a woman has twenty minutes to replace the missing money her boyfriend stole. The movie takes you on three different journeys with Lola, all controlled by fate, showing you what would happen in each. The same thing happens with Johnny.
