  • Mike Stevens, the waiter who served Johnny and Carol during Date With An Antelope will later have a cameo at the end of another episode, Over the Hump, where he will be seen offering Lawrence the Camel a drink.

  • Velma's obvious crush on Johnny later inspired a couple of short promos and bumpers which aired on the Cartoon Network:


    One of them was about a depressed Johnny sitting in a bar alongside the titular characters from the Two Stupid Dogs show and with Fred Flintstone from The Flintstones as the bartender, explaining how he fell in love with Velma, dated for a while but eventually she turned down his marriage proposal, claiming her career comes first. In the end, back in the bar, Johnny goes to pick up Melody, from Josie and the Pussycats.


    Another bumper featured Dexter, from Dexter's Laboratory falling in love with Velma and helping her with a science project she couldn't handle on her own. In the end it's revealed that her project was creating a new hair gel for Johnny, who asks her out to dinner afterwards, which she accepts, leaving Dexter heartbroken.

  • The Sensitive Male marks the first appearance of the character of the Sensitive Male.

    Bravo Dooby-Doo marks the first and only appearance of Scooby-Doo and his gang. While Scooby will later appear again on the show, the rest of the gang won't.

  • At the very end of Bravo Dooby-Doo, another Hanna-Barbera '70's cartoon character, Speed Buggy makes an appearance, offering Johnny a ride.

  • Season 1 Episode 2: Super Duped / Bungled In ...

  • Super Duped marks the first appearance of Little Suzy.

    Bungled in the Jungle marks the second appearances of Jungle Boy, King Raymond, and all the other jungle creatures first seen in "Mr. Monkeyman".

    Bearly Enough Time marks the first appearances of Bunny Bravo (Johnny's mama), and of Chronos the Bear.

  • During Bungled In The Jungle, King Raymond captures Johnny into a trap by luring him with the new Vendela calendar. Vendela will later appear on the show; she is a supermodel and a talk-show host on which Johnny has a crush on.

  • Season 1 Episode 1: Johnny Bravo / Jungle Boy in

  • As seen in the pilot episode, Johnny Bravo, Johnny's martial arts diploma reads: "The Aron City School O Defense certifies that Johnny Bravo has mastered the art of Karate, Ju Jutsu, Aikido, Lai, Tae Kwon Do, Tameshi Giri, He-Do, Bruise Lee, Lehr Do, Chump Chi, Judo, The Girl from Ipanema & Improvisational Dance. Signed by Julie "Boom Boom" Finnerty - President and Founder (some Japanese text) - Martial Art and Step Aerobic Goddess." But, as Johnny mentions, he is still studying Sumo wrestling.

  • When Johnny is seen entering the Village of Beautiful Women during the episode Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women, one of the Amazon women is seen carrying on a leash a miniature version of the purple gorilla seen in the pilot episode of Johnny Bravo.

  • One of the most mature jokes on the show: during Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women, when the Amazons are ready to make a "virgin sacrifice" out of Johnny, he protests. He is soon slapped by the Amazons.

  • On the Island of Beautiful Women, as seen in the episode Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women, you can see a mall, named Isla De Paradiso Mall.

  • Christopher the elephant slams Johnny on the ground with his trunk four times during the episode Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women.

  • Christopher, the elephant featured in Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women looks a lot like Snorky, the elephant from the Banana Splits Show (1968).

  • The Amazon woman who Johnny firsts encounters in the episode Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women is called Melissa, according to the elephant Christopher who calls her by this name.

  • Johnny guess that the Amazon woman he meets in the episode Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women is called either Trixie, Bambi, Candy and Vicky.

  • At the beginning of the episode Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women, you can see the ship is moving, even though the captain is seen standing watching the whale next to the tourists.

  • In the episode Johnny Bravo, a man who looks a lot like Jesus holding a sign saying "Stop cartoon violence" can be seen while Johnny is running around asking people if they have seen the gorilla.

  • During the episode Johnny Bravo, when the woman uses her taser on Johnny, if you look closely you can see the food inside Johnny's stomach.

  • In Johnny Bravo and the Amazon Women, Johnny mentions Don Knotts. Don Knotts will eventually appear on the show.

  • "Mr. Monkeyman" marks the first appearance of Jungle Boy. He appeared in only 3 episodes.
