The show came out in the Fall of 1959 in the absolute heyday of the TV Western.I think it ranks amongst the Top 5 of the whole bunch.Like most Westerns in those days,it was dominated by the star:Don Durant.He may not have been the greatest actor of all-time,but he was perfect for this role.I think the latter episodes where Laura and Cason Thomas are gone,are a little weaker than the earlier ones.
The show might have gained by involving Laura a little more in the storylines.
One other thing we can't forget about "Johnny Ringo" is the fabulous theme song,sung by Don Durant himself,which ends every show.moreless
