  • An old woman's dreams seem worryingly able to predict the future, including the death of two people. When they appear to come true in come JC & Maddy.

    9.0
This is one of the more fun episodes - they're always pretty good, but the comedy is ratched up a notch here. There are some wonderfully bizarre moments - Maddy picking up the perfect guy at a party, only to realise that she's in actual fact picked up TWO guys who look slightly alike and who both turn up for their date with her. Rebecca Front is the location manager who hooks up with Jonathan and over very loud music arranges to come round at 7 the next day so they can go upstairs and hump their gear around. Needless to say, his idea of what that might involve did not entail her turning up at 7 in the morning with a whole film crew!

The explanation of the old lady's dream, which does actually appear to come true is a little more pedestrian. When the murder of the tycoon takes place, anyone who has watched similar locked-room mysteries is unlikely to be fooled as to what happened, but guessing how it got into the old lady's head is more difficult.

Some great one-liners and interactions and a nice little story add up to an hour of fun stuffmoreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Goof: When Masson is discovered in his office, having been shot in the chest, there is much blood around, most of which is centred on a picture on the wall. Given the heights of the picture and the guy who has been shot, it would be impossible for the concentration of blood to be on the picture unless he'd been shot in the head and the bullet had been a through and through (as they say on CSI).

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Maddy [ answering phone ]: Yes? Who's that? Gino? Oh really, how are you both? What kind of ideal arrangement? I beg your… take it in turns to sleep with me? Am I hearing right?
Gino: What? No! We were just saying, sorry the other night was such a cock up. If you wanted to get together any time for a beer or whatever. No agenda.
Maddy:You have got some nerve the pair of you, asking me to share my body with two men on a rota basis… I'll think about it. Promising nothing mind. OK. Bye.
Jonathan: You know there's a word for what you are.
      Maddy: Predictable.

    • Jonathan: Quietly get on with things? I'm standing here in the middle of the D-Day landings. What the hell is going on?
Heidi: You were fine about it last night. When I said – our own mill had just fallen through and if I got straight on to the director and did some rescheduling would tomorrow be okay to knock off a few exteriors?
Jonathan: When did you say that?
Heidi: Last night. I said if you don't mind us going upstairs and humping our gear about. You said no problem.
Jonathan: Yes, I obviously misheard you.

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Title: The Eyes of Tiresias
A reference to the Greek myth of Tiresias, one of the priests of Zeus. There is mention in the episode of his powers of second sight. According to legend he was blinded, either by Hera (for revealing the secret of sexual enjoyment) or by Athena (for seeing her bathing naked). Whichever version you 'believe', they could not restore his sight, but he was given the gift of second sight as a compensation and became a seer.
