Not only because a WWI veteran of any nationality would now be closer to a hundred-years old. But, also because the Andean giant condor is currently an endangered species! Well, that; plus the fact they really don't grow as big as a bi-plane, in real life. I think the largest-known specimen is no more than twice the size of a golden eagle; tops. However, they did have a prehistoric ancestor who could grow pretty big. Argentavis terribilis (the Terrible Argentine Bird). According to the Discovery Channel, that species had a twenty-foot wingspan!!! A true monster of the air, if ever there was one.
