The captain shoots the sea monster with a revolver for at least 13 times. A revolver can go as high as 6 times only.
We see Hadji taking a picture of the sea monster with his finger blocking the lens. Later, when we see the picture, Jonny said to Hadji, "That's a great picture of your thumb!". It is physcially impossible that a thumb is in front of the lens when you're taking a picture. A finger maybe, but it can never be a thumb.
When we first see the dial that open/close the cages, there is a black knob with three positions. But in some scenes later, we can't see them. In later scenes, we see the black knob.

When revealed, the creature had an eye and a mouth. Since it consumes energy, and is drawn to energy, there is no reason for it to have either of these. One presumes the writers felt it needed a few features to suggest a monstrous nature; the animators change the shape of the eye to show very human-like emotions. Sometimes the worst monsters are those that share some of our own characteristics...

Judging by their size and strength, it's reasonable to assume that these animals were one of the gorilla species. Male gorillas weigh anywhere from 350 to 600 pounds. Both "Silky" and "Chopper" were jumped on by these creatures several times. A creature that heavy jumping on a man would likely kill him; about the best he could hope for would be serious injuries. Yet at the end of the episode, "Silky" and "Chopper" are apparently unharmed. "No actors were harmed during the production of this cartoon!"
It is mentioned that Hadji's age is eleven.
