The same glitch that created jPod causes it to break up.

Well, with the cancellation of Jpod by CBC it would appear that this episode marks the end of the podsters, and if so, it's a shame for such a great series to go out on such a sour note.

Start to finish this one lacked that Coupland humour, and really just felt thrown together. The revealing of the true identity of Babette was a joke. One of the things that makes Coupland's books (particularly the tech industry ones) so good is that there they do tend to be based in reality, and those of us with tech industry backgrounds can relate. The Babette story really threw that out the window and felt like something that'd appear in a movie like the Net or Hackers than a tech-savvy series such as this.

Top that off with the horrible ending with what happened to Kaitlin, and you have a stinker of an episode.

Too bad, as this really was the best show I've seen on CBC in quite some time.moreless

    • The book Jim is reading when Carol walks in is "Glove Pond", the novel written by Roger, the main character in Douglas Coupland's latest book The Gum Thief.

    • It is revealed that Babette is actually an Artificial Intelligence inside the mainframe.

    • Kaitlin is trapped by the hug machine, Cowboy says he has 911 on speed dial. How can you have 911 and speed dial and why? 1 digit is not much shorter than 3, considering the time you have to hold the digit for speed dial.

    • Kam Fong: Jim, I regret to inform you that I have failed. I hang my head in shame. Jim: Oh Kam, well you're a good buddy, at least you tried. Kam Fong: That is it Jim, I did not try, Carol needs time for Carol. No kidnapping, no re-education, just the warmth and kindness of her wonderful new friends. Jim: Kam if I didn't know you better I'd say you were a lesbian. Kam Fong (Sighs) in our own way aren't we all lesbians?
