Judge Joe, where do you get your facts, you must have been attact by dogs as a child. The majority of people that live in the "hood", can not take care of themselves much less a pit bull. Yet they are able to have children? No wonder we have all the problems with kids from these homes. The fact is a responsable owner will have its dog "fixed" at an early age. Here is one fact you should look up, "There is an 8 out of 10 chance that a biting dog is male. (Humane Society of the United States.) There is a 6 out of 10 chance that a biting dog has not been neutered. (Humane Society of the United States.) No fatal dog attack involving an altered dog was ever reported. Although some believe Pit bull mixes and Rottweillers are most likely to kill and seriously maim, fatal attacks since 1975 have been attributed to dogs from at least 30 breeds. Every time I see a pit bull on your show the people are saying how great they are, but yet almost all keep them on a chain, with no fence for them to run, and when they do have a fence they say "I keep trying to keep him in but he eats through the wood". That is where spay or neutering comes in, and training. All dog need an Alpha and need to know that every human is superior to the dog, but you also must instill confidence in the dog. Hence I have had 3 pit bull type dogs all from the humane society, and none have ever bitten anyone, and never will.
