Now I know that I am going to get many replies to this but as a lover of the show I have a few comments on Amy as a woman. As an african american I know that if she was black they would everyone from Farrakan to the NAACP blasting her for being a terrible role model for the modern AA women. However, because she isnt many viewers on this website say that she is doing one of the following
    Exploring her sexual freedom?
Being open and sexually aware of her needs and wants?
and my favorite being a modern independant professional woman of power whom gets sex as men do in the modern world.

The last really offends me cause I work with many professional woman of all races and classes and they are offended that being modern relates to the constant spreading of your legs to every man in sight. But please send me your opinion and lets DISCUSS it. I welcome all opinions. And Please dont blast me LETS TALK AND EXPLORE THE TOPIC LIKE ADULTS
    Thanks

I love this show and have watched almost all of the episodes. I never thought of Amy that way. Did she sleep with a lot of men? Most of the ones I can remember were men she was in a relationship with. Any one night stands, except her ex-husband? Let's make a list.

    David
    Stuart
    Ex-Hubby Michael
Lauren's Karate Teacher (can't remember his name)
    Judge Krumble

My mind draws a blank at this point. Please copy and add to the list all that I have forgotten. Keep in mind the show lasted for 6 seasons which means these relationships occurred over a span of 6 years.

I don't understand the correlation between being "highly educated" and "spreading your legs to every man in sight." There are a lot of holes in your post, and in your reasoning for being offended.

Could you explain further? Preferably in a more literate, grammatically correct manner?

I think Amy, underneath the robe, was a human being who made mistakes and learned from a lot of them.  Yeah, she may have slept with quite a few guys, or maybe there were times when she went overkill with Lauren, but I think that is what made it such a great show that people related to.

Im agreeing with you. What has her education have to do with her sex life. Or anyones for that matter.?

I get the whole being a role-model thing. but it's a TV drama and one of the aspects that Americans almost seem to expect is drama that sexually related. I had quick question did she ever sleep with bruce? Or did they just make out in that one episode?

    They just made out.

In my opinion, he was the one she SHOULD HAVE slept with above all others

TV characters are role models for a lot of people though and I don't think that's always a bad thing. I believe TV characters make better role models than most pop singers.

I don't understand the breakup with Krumble. What was that about? He couldn't "pretend" to run away to Spain. What does that have to do with anything? Then she said she wasn't dumping him. Anyone got an explanation?

I do not see her as a good role model because she is 'Exploring her sexual freedom' I think just makes her horney..!!

Just cause guys are doing it does not make it right either it just makes them horney also. Amy is a good role model because she taking care of herself and her daughter.

Well, I don't know if this answers it, but in the episode, Krumble was like, "Why are you cutting so many tethers in your life?" and she said, "Because I feel tethered." So I think it wasn't necessarily him, but moreso that she felt tied down by everything that was going on and she needed some freedom.

Or I could go for my usual response to why she breaks up with any guy and say it was because she's in love with Bruce. Ahem.

Amy is brilliant as a judge.  However, like many of us she is struggling put her life back together after breaking up with a person that she thought would be her life partner.  I think that most people who frequently watch her show  understand just how principled Amy is and understand that she is searching for something more than a one-stand in her her sex life.

Let's face it. Amy is just a human being, granted she is a modern woman, and all the cavemen have died, despite what Geico says, you would do well to remember that! It is not as though she went out every night to a sleazy bar and brought home a different sleazy drunk guy every night of the week, she was tasteful in her choices, although Karate Rob was a bit on the young side, but she was not the terrible promiscuous sleazy role model you claim. She was a modern divorced with a daughter wman that just happened to be a judge, and if you cannot find a modern divorced woman wih a daughter that isnt involved with 5 men in a span of six years(1 of which she was married to, and 2 that she intended to marry might I add) then I suggest you get your eyes checked.

Good for you, Blndswanhavfun.  I respect you standing up for what is right.  As indicated in your e-mail, 5 men in 6 years, what the heck.  But it is ok for men to sleep with 5 women in a week.  Thanks for sticking up for Amy and the rest of us.

Well I think she's a great person who makes honest mistakes like everyone else, and who she has relationships sexual or not shouldn't factor in to what kind of person she is with her daughter or with her job. I believe she's just a strong and extremely enlighted woman with a healthy sexual appetite. PLUS! She really hasn't slept with THAT many men throughout the course of the show..

I do have a question though..How old IS Amy Gray supposed to be? She's gotta be in her 40's right? I mean..Most people don't leave law school until atleast 30 or so, then you have to have atleast 15 years or so of experience under your belt to become a judge last time I checked.

In the final season Amy had a miscarriage at age forty.. So it's safe to say she was about 35 when she started as a judge?

Yeah, since it was 6 seasons, and she miscarried at 40, she was nearing 35 when she started as a juvenile court judge.
