Maxine, as her friend Sally says "the best assistant in the wold" is in trouble because of her techniques for solving the problems with children. Her old friend Sally appears to examinate her but their friendship arrives to a point with no return.
A very good episode, sad but very good, in which both Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless demonstrate the amazing actresses they are and the chemistry they still have between them after all these years. And not to lose their "Cagney & Lacey" days habits, they have a big argument. For me, this is one of the ebst episodes of the series.moreless

    "Great"
This is an excellent episode that depicts the ups and downs in a friendship, that happen through the years. Maxine and Sally share an excellent rapport, but as disapproval of Maxine\'s tactics in her work filter down from Sally, their friendship is endangered. They say very strong harsh words to each other, that brings out their feelings and expresses the change in their personalities thorugh the years. It brings out in a possibly cruel way, how each one may think that they are better than the other.

Amy\'s words to the girl, when she confesses that the plan with her boyfriend to kill her father and run away was in fact true saying,\"you weren\'t supposed to miss\" are also very moving and makes a child appreciate what their parents do for them.It helps one realize the metamorphosis required to stop being selfish and make a complete turnaround in character in order to be a good parent. The guest star playing the girl\'s father, does an excellent job, potraying his grief poignantly.moreless
