  • Amy must decide whether a gothic teen is responsible for his girlfriends death.

In each episode of Judging Amy, Amy has one central court case that the audience is able to see through from the beginning to the verdict. Quite often, these are emotional and can definitely inspire a few tears. However, in this episode, the court case is in rare form. Not only is it emotional, it is memorable. In fact, it is the only thing I can find myself reflecting on after the episode.

The poor gothic boy, searching for a place to fit in. Fantastically played. We first see him insulting Amy, because he doesn't believe in government. Then, very cleverly, the writers introduced a psychologist who analyzes art. The suicidal one was David's girlfriend, not David. David appears to merely be searching to be gothic and suicidal, and is not truly. But, this is easily discarded by his stony demeanor (excellently portrayed by the guest star). Amy does a fantastic job trying to decipher who the boy really is. It would be impossible not to be moved by David's tears, but, possibly even more moving, is Amy's instruction to the lawyers to get the boy counseling.

This was the most fantastic case in the history of Judging Amy.moreless
