  • The theme of the title runs throughout the plot of the episode. Everyone is trying to be independent and rile against the norm or the expected.

Vincent is wonderful is this episode. He is having fun with the situation rather than being frustrated with being so hurt.

Amy is Amy...she wants to control every situation - with Vincent, with Bruce, with Lauren. I am so glad that Bruce stood up for himself. He was right - being ordered back to Amy's court is as bad as being ordered away from her court.

The storyline for Maxine is perfect. Almost losing a child is difficult for a parent. She is really handling it well. I love how Donna's character is being developed. Even the name on the name plate is perfect. Excellent.
