Junior G Men On The Air

Show Summary

Junior G Men On The Air (1942) is a 12-part serial that covers the continuing exploits of the Dead-End Kids as they fight off sinister Japanese and German agents. A real phenomena when they arrived in Hollywood, The Dead End Kids actually featured some street kids from New York City who had been forced to live on the streets until they were offered an opportunity to create a drama group. Their rough edges off the set, stayed with them for a few years. On the set, they turn in some very realistic performances and helped create a genre of cliffhangers that inspired people like George Lucas. The Junior G Men that the series refers to, relates to an FBI program that encouraged young people to get involved in helping to solve crime as a way of making them into good citizens. 11 of the 12 episodes in this series each feature a cliffhanger ending.
