Pilot (1)
AIRED:

After serving five years in Medecino State Prison for insurance fraud, a crime she didn't commit, Alex DeMonaco moves to a halfway house and via sheer persistence, wins an unpaid position at the law firm of Burdick, Whitney & Morgan. Working for Hamilton Whitney III's, she uses her position to help others and to search for her missing daughter, Mia, who her husband disappeared with when he framed Alex for fraud. In the two-part opener, Alex stumbles upon an inconsistency in a case involving a large corporation called Coltar. The company Mr. Whitney represents did the accounting for Coltar and were fired supposedly for overly conservative accounting practices, however Alex believes there may be illegal activity going on, and her findings lead to something even Mr. Whitney didn't expect.

      • Alex: This will help our case.
Whitney: Really, based on what precedent?
