Episode Recap

At a bar in Central City, the Mirror Master is meeting with the Trickster and Captain Cold and suggesting they upgrade their image when Captain Boomerang shows up. They're unhappy about the Flash having defeated them all and decide to team up to bring him down and destroy the new Flash Museum the city is building in his honor.

Wally is working in the lab at Central City police station and finishes up and heads out as the Flash. Beaming up to the Watchtower, he greets Batman and Orion and manages to convince them to come to the opening.

Later, he is running to the opening when he hears a girl call for help from inside an abandoned building. She turns out to be a hologram, and disappears as he approaches her. The building seals up, and a giant mirrored disco ball descends. The Mirror Master appears for some friendly banter before activating a laser trap from the disco ball. The Flash is downed as the laser beams close in, but manages to dodge them and keep running. The Flash lures the lasers into the disco machine before using a CD from the wreckage to disable the laser-disco-ball and escape.

At the museum, the Flash is lauded by the grateful populace and given the key to the city. Afterward he's greeting the crowd but interrupted by the arrival of flying boomerangs. He clears out the crowd and deflects the boomerangs…but they come back. Creating a whirlwind, the Flash sucks them in then sends them shooting out and leaves them to explode. He's hit by a giant flying boomerang which latches onto him with manacles and heads for the nearby mountain. The Flash manages to bring it down as Batman and Orion arrive and Batman insists that they guard him.

The villains are unhappy at their lack of success and the Trickster prepares some grant master scheme. It sounds so lame that they figure they're should just team up and jump Flash at the museum. The Flash prepares to capture the villain at the bar where they were meeting and the three heroes confront a disgruntled Trickster. Batman has Orion convince the Trickster to reveal the others' plan, but the Flash intervenes and convinces him to take his medication and visit him at the hospital if he tells them the plan.

At the Flash Museum an enamored Linda Park is doing a broadcast while Batman and Orion patrol outside. Batman has destroyed all the mirrors in the museum but the villains enter through Linda Park's compact mirror. The villains open fire and Batman and Orion are drawn to the noise as the civilians flee outside. Captain Cold manages to deflect Orion while Mirror Master fires at Batman…who deflects his bolts with a mirror. The Flash manages to hit Mirror Master despite his holograms but Linda Park falls into one of his mirrors and Flash goes in after her. While Batman and Captain Boomerang square off, the Flash manages to grab Linda but they're trapped within a mirror dimension. At superspeed the Flash has to try each mirror.

Orion attacks the villains and is sent flying when the three gang up on him, but Batman confronts them. He gets nailed but the Batman manages to fire a flare into the Mirror Master's mirror – showing the Flash which one to go through. He returns to reality, knocks out Captain Boomerang, and uses Boomerang's exploding boomerang to free Orion, who uses a hose to freeze Captain Cold with his own ice blast. The Mirror Master tries to escape in a mirror but Batman shattered it, trapping him.

Outside the villains are hauled away (or swept up, in Mirror Master's case) and the Flash is happy that at least he's on TV, and they've won.

Mirror Master

The original Mirror Master first appeared in Flash v. 1 #105 (Feb-March 1959), and was created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino. Samuel Scudder was a small-time crook who became fascinated by mirrors and created a number of mirror gimmicks. Dubbing himself the "Mirror Master," Scudder pitted himself against the Silver Age Flash and numerous other heroes, and was a charter member of the original Secret Society of Super-Villains. He was killed during Crisis, however, An orphan, Scotsman Evan McCulloch, turned to crime government and agents hired him to work for them then provided him with the equipment of the original Mirror Master. Scudder hires himself out as a mercenary, although he can often be swayed by sentiment toward orphans or hired away by someone offering a higher price.

In either incarnation, Mirror Master possessed no superhuman abilities but had a remarkable knowledge of and technological mastery of mirror and light-based technology. He can use mirrors to fire lasers, establish communications through mirrors, generate holograms, and a variety of esoteric applications such as turning his opponents into "living mirrors." He has also developed technology to access "mirror dimensions," which can range from simply an unspecified dimension which all mirrors give access to, to actual parallel/alternate dimensions.

This is Mirror Master's first appearance in the WB animated universe, although an actor dressed as him appeared in "Eclipsed (1)".

Captain Cold

Leonard "Len" Snart first appeared in Showcase #8 (June 1957) and was created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino. Snart was a small-time crook who determined that the best way to defeat the Flash was to create a weapon and charge it with particles from a cyclotron. This created a weapon capable of projecting extreme cold. Snart donned a blue-and-whtie parka-like costume and dubbed himself "Captain Cold." He became a charter member of the Flash's Rogues' Gallery and battled the Flash and other superheroes on many occasions. His sister, Lisa Snart, married another Flash Rogue, the Top, and for a time the two reformed and became bounty hunters. Snart has since returned to a life of crime and is a de facto leader of the current Rogues.

Captain Cold has no superhuman abilities but is an expert marksman and has extensive familiarity with cyrogenics. He can use his "cold gun" to fire bursts of ice, extreme cold, and generate highly elaborate cold-mirages. This is Captain Cold's first appearance in the WB animated universe, although he was a member of the Legion of Doom in Challenge of the SuperFriends.

The Trickster

The original Trickster first appeared in Flash v. 1 #113 (July 1980). A circus acrobat named James Jesse, he was inspired by his reverse namesake Jesse James to become a super-villain and invented a pair of Airwalker Shoes. He became a super-villain in Central City and ran afoul of the Flash on many occasions. He later turned legitimate as a F/X specialist in Hollywood and later as a FBI agent, but in recent years (as of the time of this episode), it was revealed he was the subject of brainwashing and has returned to a life of crime.

A second Trickster, Axel Walker, took on the identity and gimmicks after Jesse abandoned it, and made a name for himself. When the original Trickster took back the mantle, Axel was forced into retirement upon threat of death.

The Trickster has no superhuman abilities but has a variety of gadgets concealed as gags, children items, and joke items, such as exploding rubber chickens, marbles for tripping a super-speedster, and razor-sharp hula hoops. He is also a skilled acrobat and uses his Airwalker Shoes for flight. The one presented here is named James but his mental problems allude to his concept in The Flash live series where the character appeared in two episodes. This is his first appearance in the WB animated universe.

Linda Park

Linda Park first appeared in Flash v. 2 #28 (July 1989). A TV reporter, she first hounded the Flash (Wally West) about the damage caused in the wake of his super-fights, but eventually they became friends and then started dating. Their relationship endured a number of tragedies and criminal attacks and eventually they were married. She was pregnant with twins but they were kileldby an attack by the Flash's nemesis Professor Zoom. A later rematch created a fissure in time which restored the twins, but as of the time of this episode's premiere, Linda and the twins have been absorbed into some strange dimension along with her husband. This is her first appearance in the WB animated universe.
