Season 2 Episode 4

Tabula Rasa (2)

  • Trivia

    • At one point Amazo is flying along using Hawkgirl's wings but at the time he already had Superman's powers. Superman is a much faster flyer than Hawkgirl, so why not use his powers of flight instead?

    • The same for Amazo having an initial weakness to kryptonite. He didn't see Superman being vulnerable to kryptonite, so why would he acquire that weakness? Overall, the whole "Has to see them to duplicate them" thing doesn't seem to make much sense.

    • If Amazo depends on sight to duplicate powers...then how does he duplicate J'onn's telepathy? It's not like he can...well, see J'onn's telepathic powers in use.

    • Amazo can't adapt to duplicate Batman because he purportedly has no super-powers...but neither does Hawkgirl and he gets her fighting ability and mace just fine. So why doesn't he adapt Batman's martial arts and batarangs?

  • Quotes

    • Amazo: You don't have any special powers.
Batman: I have this. (pulls out kryptonite) It's a package deal. You get our strenghs; you get our weaknesses.

    • Flash: It's all making sense now, even to me.

    • Flash: I say we let them waste each other.
Hawkgirl: Since when do we do what you say?

    • Lex Luthor: He's just a machine. I don't care how powerful he is - he's no god.
Superman: Then why do I have a feeling if he ever comes, you're going to be doing a lot of praying?

    • Hawkgirl: You always carry kryptonite with you ?
      Batman: Call it insurance.
Hawkgirl: And they say I'm scary.

  • Notes

    • The entire League appears in this episode

    • Batman having the kryptonite at the ready is reminiscent of the two-part Batman Beyond episode "The Call," in which the elderly Bruce Wayne had a small piece of it ready in case Superman went rogue again. Whatever remained of the chunk of kryptonite when Amazo threw at Superman could have been the sliver he had in the Batman Beyond episode.
