The wall map behind Flash shows North and South Korea. Both countries did not exist until after World War II.
At the start of the episode, we watch the Allies are retreating, and from a high shoot we see Superman carrying a tank. But then moments later he is shown landing with the troop transport that he picked up at the bridge in Part 1.
Savage's red arm band appears/disappears/reappears throughout his conversation with the imprisoned J'onn.
The Justice League, particularly Superman, seem uncharacteristically indifferent to taking human lives -- it seems very unlikely that every German soldier or pilot that they fought could have possibly survived their onslaught.
J'onn: I've seen your future. It doesn't work.
J'onn: You age gracefully. Vandal Savage: You have no idea.
Vandal Savage: Who would have thought the ubermensch would be green?
Hawkgirl: The casualties would have been much worse if we'd stopped to help John. We had to make a choice. Flash: Some choice.
Superman: Friends of yours? Hawkgirl: They are now.
Character bios: The Blackhawks, Sgt. Rock & Easy Company
Batman doesn't appear in this episode.
Flaming Superman When Superman crashes through a German airship he is totally immersed in flames. As he flies away he's briefly a "human torch" and looks just like the android Human Torch, a World War II superhero in Timely (later Marvel) comics.
Vandal Savage: Who would have thought the ubermensch would be green?
The ubermensch is Nietzsche's idea of "the overman." The Nazis twisted some of Neitzsche work and believed the "aryan" race was the ubermensch.
