War World (1) tells how in a demolition accident in space, they are carted off to Mongul's War World to compete. Superman typifies the definition of honor when he fights against Drega and who is severely punished for his decision.
Yet no matter how well Superman is portrayed here, it does not excuse the unoriginal robots Mongul uses who remind me of Braniac's robot guards from Stolen Memories. Then there is the reptilian creature in the prison who is just a larger version of an Earthly crocodile.
Yet, War World was a nice atmosphere though they did not venture very far into the landscape. It reminded me of Engine City (after Coast City was destroyed in the Reign of Superman) which consequently had Mongul and the Cyborg Superman.
The other difficulty is that the Justice League at least in the first part of the episode centers either solely on one or two characters and then expands it's in the second half. This is one of those episodes that makes you feel like you are watching a Superman TAS episode with the Martian Manhunter guest starring.
Other than that and lack of original creature and AI designs, the show plays out well enough and is worth viewing.
