Fountain Lakes - Fact or Fiction

    i have recently heard that the place where Kath and Kim live, Fountain Lakes, is a real place. However, is the real Fountain Lakes and the Fountain Lakes where Kath and Kim live the very same, or is just a coincidence that they have the same suburb names?

    Hoiye, I'm a yuge Kath and Kim fan and I'm from Melbourne where Kath and Kim is filmed.
    Here is the truth.
    Fountain Gate is a shopping complex in Melbourne and some Kath and Kim scenes were filmed in there. Fountain Lakes is a made up name (most likely to derive from Fountain Gate)

    Same here, I love Kath and Kim, I reckon it's the best show to hit the ABC. I think it's cool how you live there. Have you ever seen them film any episodes?

    Fountain Gate is a real shopping centre, but Kath and Kim is actually filmed at Westfield Southland in Cheltenham. Brett's computer shop is actually the Harvey Norman there. You will instantly recognise it if you fo there.

    Oh yeah, in one of the very first episodes of Kath and Kim, the shopping center has a huge "Westfield" sign on the front of it.

    Kath & Kim film in the Mordialloc Hall as well, in the episode where Kath is in a play, and Kim breaks her nose, running in that Kathy Freeman body-suit.

    Kath's house is actually in a place called Patterson Lakes. It's a real house, owned by real people. Read an article about it here:

    Also, the shopping centre is one of several Westfield shopping centres, but that particular one is located in Fountain Gate. And it has a Krispy Kreme donut shop where you can actually watch the donuts being made
