A long undercover operation by the British Customs and Excise depaqrtment leads to a raid on an industrial distribution centre. A long-distance truck from the Netherlandd is found to be loaded with meat and also fifteen kilos of heroin.
The centre's manager, Patrick Bennett, and his boss, Kevin Gregson, are both arrested and charged with drug dealing. Kavanagh prosecutes them, while the men are defended by Susannah Dixon, a bright young barrister.
Meanwhile, Lizzie Kavanagh is threatened by two of Gregson's heavies, making her husband all the more determined to nail the defendants in court.
