Keeping Secrets is a 1991 TV movie based on the childhood memoir of
actress Suzanne Somers ("Three's Company"). The movie depicts Somers,
who plays herself, as the daughter of an abusive and alcoholic father,
Frank Mahoney (Ken Kercheval) and a co-dependent mother, Marion (Michael
Learned), growing up in San Francisco. The story follows Somers to her
early start as an actress and her marriage to producer Alan Hamel (David
Birney), as she tries to break the dysfunctional family patterns.
