  • Hyacinth feels that she has been outdone by the Barker-Finch's after they have a celebrity guest at their barbecue so she intends to do the same herself.

    If there is one thing that Hyacinth hates it's being outdone by others, particularly the snobbish Mrs. Barker-Finch. When she learns that Mr. and Mrs. Barker-Finch have held a luxury barbecue and had a celebrity in attendance, she is determined that she will go one better and so, she decides to have an outdoor/indoors luxury barbecue (which means the house will be full of foliage!) and invite a celebrity in order to make the snooty neighbours green with envy.

    Unfortunately, things don't go quite as Hyacinth expects them to when she fails to get a celebrity attendee and the foliage threatens to obscure everything in sight anyway.moreless
