The title of this episode really doesn't accentuate how funny it actually is, an it's VERY funny! Hyacinth wants to have her kitchen worktops redone but she can't decide between 'Lucifer Grey' or 'Angel Gabriel Blue' so she needs the advice of the vicar on a matter with obvious religious significance. Once the vicar has confirmed that her choice is indeed 'Angel Gabriel Blue', she feels much more relaxed about making the choice.

Kitchen worktops aren't Hyacinth's only problem though because Richard comes home from the doctor having been diagnosed with Athlete's Foot. Hyacinth will simply not tolerate Richard having a fungus infection so she tells him that he in fact has gout, which comes from 'an excess of good living' and makes him wear a ridiculously huge bandage over his entire foot and pretend to be in great pain.

Meanwhile, when Hyacinth goes to place an order for her worktop, she finds that the salesman is less than helpful and not impressed when she starts putting little mounds of food all over a display worktop to see 'how it copes will spillages'. Apparently, Sheridan's fairy cake mixture causes particular difficulty!

When it becomes necessary to visit Onslow and Daisy's house, Hyacinth is appalled to find that Daisy has a slab of the 'Angel Gabriel Blue' worktop sitting in her kitchen. Onslow found it on the tip and it going to install it - sometime. Needless to say, Hyacinth changes her mind very quickly about what kind of worktop will be installed in HER kitchen!moreless
