Hyacinth plans for a candlelight supper, but runs into a few family snags along the way.
  • It's time for yet another of Hyacinth's excruciating Candlelight Suppers which, it seems, only she enjoys!

    "Superb"
Hyacinth's Candelight Suppers are legendary in the town and, according to Hyacinth herself, one of the most sought-after invitations around. The guests, however, do not necessarily subscribe to this theory and quite an alarming number of them find some very inventive excuses for not attending!

The supper planned in this episode has the dual purpose of gathering the socially acceptable members of the community at Hyacinth's home as well as giving hera chance to showcase what she considers to be her considerable talent for singing for Emmet's benefit in the hope that he will offer her a leading role in one of the productions he directs at the Amateur Operatic Society. Severely clouding Hyacinth's thoughts of stardom, however, are uncooperative dustbin men and the usual difficulties with the relatives she prefers to forget she even has!
