As we all know by now, Hyacinth will use every available opportunity to social climb and so, when she and Richard get the chance to spend a weekend in the country at her sister's cottage, she is determined to make the most of it. Naturally, this means taking enough luggage and personal effects to sink a ship, but that has never bothered her before! Richard's protests about the need for so much stuff fall on deaf earsand she is already making plans to host a barbecue for family and friends soon after their arrival. She would not say no to the opportunity of meeting the lady who owns the big manor house near the cottage either!

After settling in, Hyacinth telephones her family and tells them to arrive for a mid-afternoon barbecue and that Daddy may bring his Polish friend 'Mrs.Thing' along as well if that keeps him happy. After doing this, Hyacinth is thrilled to see Richard outside having a conversation with a lady carrying a shot gun whom she rightly believes to be the lady from the manor house. Inviting her in, Hyacinth puts on all the airs and graces she can muster and learns that the lady, Bunty, has lost her gun-shy spaniel, Zoe. Naturally, Hyacinth offers Richard's services to help locate the dog while Hyacinth does some serious social climbing.

After a martini or two, skillfully prepared by Hyacinth, Bunty is well on the way to being quite drunk and seems to be having trouble controlling the use of her legs. Hyacinth, meanwhile sees Richard talking to an old tramp outside until Bunty informs her that the 'tramp' is, in fact, her husband, Dorian! Dorian, it seems, has not been terribly interested in Bunty for quite some time but the sight of Hyacinth and his strong reaction to her has Bunty hopeful that the worst may be over.

Meanwhile, Onslow, Daisy, Daddy, Rose and 'Mrs. Thing' arrive for the barbecue while Richardis still looking for the lost dog. Hyacinth and Bunty are now quite drunk and lead a conga line outside, which delights Daisy who wants to join in. Bunty thinks her eyesight is failing when all she can see is a forest of legs, courtesy of Onslow and the family all wearing lurid shorts!

This one is very funny. Watch it for a great laugh.moreless
