Hyacinth and Richard spend the weekend on a yacht.
  • One of the best episodes of them all. Non-stop hilarity from start to finish when Hyacinth and Richard prepare to spend the weekend on a yacht.

Hyacinth is delighted when her son, Sheridan (whom we never actually see) tells her that his friend has a yacht and that herself and Richard are welcome to borrow it for the weekend. Always needing to look the part, she drags poor Richard off shopping for appropriate attire as befitting an experienced sailor and dressesboth him and herself with a nautical flavour.

When they arrive at the marina and find "The Contessa 2", it is indeed a gorgeous boat, the only problem being that the keys won't fit the lock - the reason being that they have the wrong boat! Turns out that the "The Contessa 2" is a clapped out old pile of rubbish, almost ready for the ship's graveyard! Hyacinth is very distraught because she has invited Emmett and Elizabeth to join them for the evening.

Making the most of a bad situation, they decide to move the boat to a location away from the more luxurious vessels so that it doesn't look quite so decrepit. The 'moving' part, however, poses a few problems when neither of them know how to work the mechanics of the boat properly and both end up in the water!

A side-splitting episode, one of the funniest of them all and that's saying something given the quality of some of the others. A great way to end the third season.moreless
