Kidnapped (1963)

Show Summary

A dramatisation in twelve episodes by Joy Harington of Robert Louis Stevenson's two classic novels "Kidnapped" and its sequel "Catriona". Cheated of his birthright by his wicked uncle, youngster David Balfour is cast adrift in the troubled Scotland of the mid eighteenth century, when the embers of the Jacobite rising of 1745 were still smouldering. On his travels he meets Alan Breck Stewart, a mercurial Highlander and rebel whose encounter with David involves the young man in high political intrigue.
