Show Summary

Killinaskully is a small village in the middle of Ireland. The people are all different in the village such as: Mr. Cantwell (Pat Shortt, Father Ted ) the teacher that is crazy in love with his colleague Miss Fahey (Aoife Molony). Dan Clancy (Pat Shortt), is somebody that thinks he knows everything about everybody, he goes on about his life experiences in the local bar "Bonnan Buì" owned by Jacksie (Pàraic Breathnach), Dan has to very odd friends, Timmy Higgins (Joe Rooney, Father Ted ) and Jimmy Bourke (Jack Walsh (VII)) The Church is run by Fr. Phillip Eno (John Keogh, Fair City). Down the road from the Church is Mount Bernadette B&B owned by Goretti (Pat Shortt). Lately the Village, has seen filmmakers from Germany, Dieter Langer (Louis Lovett, Stage Actor) and the injured Hans (Adrian O'Gara). Other local people would be the Sergeant Dick O'Toole (Pascal Scott) Pa Connors (Pat Shortt) The rich Mrs.Gilhooley (Maria McDermottroe, Glenroe) Nurse Maloney (Eileen Gibbons, Salt Water Sunday) The Local Politician is Willie Power (Pat Shortt) and he runs the Town. The Set During the months of May and June Killinaskully the series was filmed in various parts of Limerick and Tipperary. Everyday on a film set is different and can involve a lot of moving around for the cast and crew. Generally scenes are not shot in sequence as this would make things very difficult for the crew. A lot of the interior pub scenes in Ryans Bar in Killoscully were shot over 2-3 days and then we would move onto another location and back to Ryans bar again to film more interior scenes. As you will gather from watching the series the bar is the central gathering place for the locals and where many scenes take place (the drinks aren't real though). Also the pub is like a second home for Jimmy, Dan and Timmy. We were very lucky to have the opportunity to use real locations for the majority of the scenes, all the classrooms scenes and the interior church scenes were shot in actual schools and churches. We also had a studio facility in Limerick for the interior B&B scenes, the garda station and the hospital scenes. Most days there would be a crew of at least 40 people working on set in the various departments. Depending on whether we were working indoors or outdoors, weather and sunlight are major factors in our progress. Also for continuity reasons you couldn't have a very dark overcast scene outside the pub and one minute later the sun splitting the rocks. Variances in light and weather can cause delays and last minute changes to a film crew. News The new series starts next year!moreless
