He's around. He and Hobnob-rev had quite the debate on a KiGo thread over there that puts this one to shame in terms of rationality. I linked to it earlier in the thread, but in case you don't feel like looking for it, it's right here. I posted quite a bit on the second and third pages, and some of my posts could be considered author's notes for The Silence. I'm actually using that thread as a basis for some of the dialogue. It just shows what happens when a bunch of very mature writers get together and discuss something: longwinded, beautifully written posts that border on essays. So far you, me and the KiGo folks have been the only ones doing that on this thread. The bashers are slowly fading away though, so it looks like there may be hope for this thread after all.

Well when it comes to the TV series, I surport Ron/Kim more just cause (evidence aside) I think the lovable knuckle-head deserves a nice girl like Kim.

That said, I think that KiGo is by far the most believable hero/villian pairing in the series. There is a mutual respect between them that in the right setting could quite easily develope into friendship or perhapes even more. All the other villians are just too silly to be paired up with any of the heros.

When it comes to fanfiction in general (not limited to KP because I havn't read that many) my view on a pairing is dependant on how good the story is. I will surport any pairing so long as it's well written. That is perhaps the problem I find with most yaoi/yuri stories I've read (KiGo included); they're so wrapped up in the whole "hey look I'm writting about about two guys/girls hooking up" that they don't bother to put in a decent story. I mean come on, just because the character is homosexual, it doesn't mean they will just jump the first person of the same gender. Gay people have standards, just like straight people (And in some cases even higher than straight people). Maybe I just haven't been finding the decent yaoi/yuri stories.

Now I have read a couple of yaoi/yuri stories that were good and I have read a boat load of straight stories that were utter **** Like I said before, it doesn't matter if it's straght or gay believable or unbelievable, give me a story that's well written and I'll surport the pairing in it.

Well, The Silence has been pretty well received so far. People are even talking about nominating it for next year's Fannie Awards. I think it's because I did the opposite of what you described. It's more of a psychological thriller that happens to feature KiGo than just another story about two hot chicks hooking up. It wasn't even originally supposed to be KiGo. I wanted to do it as a K/R, but the psychological elements that I'm able to explore with KiGo simply weren't possible with the traditional ship. I've also got a giant conspiracy theory in mind that draws inspiration from George Orwell's 1984. I've also made it realistic in that their relationship is not designed to last and it will fall apart at the end. That's just as far as I see it going. They may try to hold on and claim it's love, but in the end Kim belongs with Ron. Even Shego realizes that and this is the source of her conflict in chapters 9-11 (still writing 10). That's another thing I've done that a lot of KiGo writers forget: don't sell Ron short. A lot of writers will either toss him to the curb and ignore him or banish him to Yamanouchi (so he can hook up with Yori) while they establish Kim and Shego's relationship. I've killed him off completely, but as you can see he still plays a major role in the story.

So if you're looking for a good story attached to a KiGo, check this one out. It will rock your world.

Thanks, I'll have a read of it. The way that it sounds it should be worth the read.

Ok, I'm still a bit new to the Fanfic community so at the risk of sounding ignorant; what are the Fanny Awards that you're talking about?

It just takes me to "The Silence" and I 've checked but I can't seem to find anything on it there.

edit: Well I have read your story. I said that I would surport any pairing so long as it's well written and I stand by that. You have written a good KiGo story and so I surport it. Great job.

I also reviewed it, my penname is Mr Makulu. It's long but I figured that you would want me to be specific and I wasn't sure if it would be appropriate for me to discuss your story on this topic.

Actually, I think it's OK to discuss it, because this topic is about KiGo in general. I personally loved the story as well, but you can probably tell it anyway since I have written about 10 reviews...

Well in that case. The Love scenes in "The Silence"  are quite descriptive but like I said in my reveiw, not quite discriptive or common enough to warrant me wanting to tell Beeftony to take this story to AdultFanfiction.net. This brings me to my question. Since such "interaction" seems to be inevitable in KiGo stories, or at least from what I've seen. This raises the question of how far you can take stuff like that before your story goes from being tasteful (Like The Silence) to just being smuff (smutty fluff)?

I don't think beef will take the story any farther than that. The lovemaking scene in chapter 5 (It was c5 right?) was tastefully done, and I don't think we'll see much more of that. I read some KiGo over at AdultFiction, and they were nothing like "The Silence". They were just textporn.

Yes I felt that The silence was done tastefully and I doubt there would be more chapters like that as well.

I was refering more to stories (KiGo and others) in general. AdultFanfiction KiGo stories well and trully cross the line from story to "text porn" as you call it. I know that, you know that and the people that wrote know that. What I wonder is on the spectrum from rated for kids to being what you find on adult fanfiction, where is it that you draw the line? Did beeftony push it as far as it could go or could it be pushed further and still be considered tasteful?

I appreciated your review. I sent a reply to it, so check that out.

About the lovemaking scene: It had actually been in the back of my head for quite some time, but I did not have a story to put around it until just recently. I tried to establish a hazy yet descriptive atmosphere, so instead of giving the specifics I made my descriptions just clear enough to give readers a general sense of what was going on, but I still left enough details vague for the reader to imagine.

The part of Chapter 5 where I took it the farthest was what I referred to in Chapter 7 as "that." I got the idea for "that" when I was up late one night and for some reason I found myself wondering what "other" applications Shego's powers might have. After all, she does have a non-lethal stun mode. What's to stop her from using those powers recreationally? I take it from the fact that I've received  no complaints that the readers were in favor of this, or at least the ones who didn't like it were too cowardly to say so.

If I had taken it too far, the community would have let me know. I have a great respect for my readers and I made it a point to warn them adequately at the beginning of that chapter. Hell, that's the reason I put "KiGo" in the summary. Some people just aren't into it. Believe me, I've seen people take this stuff much farther and still be within the bounds of fanfiction.net's policy.

Lol yeah I had an idea the community would let you know. From what I'm seeing the KP community doesn't seem to take prisoners .

Yea I had been toying with the idea of doing a single character crossover with xiaolin (ie I take one character from the Xioalin Showdown universe and put him in the KP universe) but I'm not too sure if I'm ready for the lions den that is the KP fanfiction community. Any thoughts?

Well, you can try. I made a crossover with Metal Gear, and at least I didn't get flamed. So go on ahead, could be interesting. There is a KP/Burnout crossover there, written by ChaosEngine, so why not with Xiaolin Shodown?

KP/XS has been done before, but only by one author. It's still wide open. The only crossover I ever did was with God of War, and it turned out pretty awesome. The author I recommend if you're into crossovers is Classic Cowboy. He's the undisputed king in that arena. Just don't do a KP/X-Men crossover. It's been done to death.

I know I am the new guy and I would like to join your discussion. I vote for "Hell Yes" because I really love KiGo. It's difficult to explain why. I think Shego and Kim would be the perfect couple. Besides their perception of law they have so much in common. Both are strong - mental and physical - both like to go to their limits and both have green eyes. Kim and Shego are like day and night, you may prefer one but only the combination makes a perfect day. I hope you understand my little weird explanation and give this discussion some input.

KiGo makes no sense just because two people fight all the time does not mean they are in love. Joker doesn't lust after batman. Shego goes against everything kim stands for, she hurts people for her own personal gain. Kim would never be with her. Shego likes to live her life with out people needing her or needing other people (she left her family) she would never go with some one who lives for the purpose of helping others for free. You people are only finding lesbianism in the series because you go in looking for it. The only words they ever say to each other are insults,or kim telling shego she hates her, or just condescending statements.
