  • A Mother's Day to remember

    10
Kim and her mom haven't had some mother daughter time in a while. Mr. Dr. Possible deals with the twins so that mom and daughter can have time together. So they decide to spend a day together and what better day than Mother's Day? But duty calls for Kim as Drakken is once again trying to steal a special matter eating synthol. This time rather than Ron it is Kim's mom who accompanies Kim on her mission to thwart Drakken's theft on a train. However Drakken is also entertaining his mother and trying to get her to think that he is on an outing/picnic. She thinks that her son is a radio show shrink but blissfully unaware that he is in reality some villain bent on world domination. His mother not only embarrasses him in front of Shego and a couple of henchmen but spoils the plan by opening and activating the substance that begins consuming material and growing. Fortunately Mrs. Dr. Possible's surgery skills come in to save the day more than once. Ultimately Drakken is foiled by his own mother in order to preserve the secret him being villain bent on world conquest. Later they send the matter eating mess to the Stoppable residence where it eats all the junk in the garage and thus providing Ron's mom with a gift of a clean/empty garage (except for that blasted garden gnome that haunted him during his childhood).

When these two meet up with each others, thing get out of hand. • Mom Possible and Lipsky share a day in the life of their kids as both are dragged into the Kim-Drakken (aka Drew Lipsky) conflict on their special holiday.

    9.6
This episode is about mothers day. Kim possible takes her mom on a mission and Drakken takes his mom for an evil scheme that was Kim's mission to stop it. in other words Moms Possible and Lipsky share a day in the life of their kids as both are dragged into the Kim-Drakken (aka Drew Lipsky) conflict on their special holiday. In other new Ron Stopable has to spend his day cleaning the garage when he meets an old enemy, a garden gnome. My favorite part of this episode was to see Ron's old enemy. Another thing that I liked about this episode is when we see how Kim and her mom saved the day. My lastly favorite part of this episode was when we see how the mom of Drakken is like. It was really weird to see that Drakkens mom is so friendly and polite.moreless
  • Momma said there'd be days like this...

    4.6
Kim promised to spend the whole day with her mother, but a mission comes up. Drakken is after an experiment which is being transported by train. Unfortunately, Ron is stuck cleaning out his garage (it's his mother's present), so guess who has to accompany Kim?

This is somewhat similar to "Bad Boy" in that a decent idea gets buried in filler. Now, don't get me wrong: it's nice to see the mothers of Team Possible and there's a great gag referencing "Tetris". Unfortunately, the strengths are outweighed by the weaknesses: the action plot becomes dull after a while, and the whole 'Ron is afraid of ________' spiel (this time involving a garden gnome) just smacks of lazy writing (as always).

But these are perfectly forgivable in light of the episode's biggest debit: Mama Lipsky. Some people might find her funny, but I feel that her overly doting nature and naivete at her son's true intentions suck out what little life the episode has. For a much funnier character voiced by Estelle Harris, try Mrs. Potato Head in "Toy Story 2" or Lula on "Dave the Barbarian".

Watching "Mother's Day" is not the best way to spend Mother's Day.moreless

    • Drakken: There's only one person who could have done that. And that's Kim Possible.
Mrs. Lipsky: This Kim sounds like a very special girl.
Drakken: It's a complicated relationship, mother.
Mrs. Lipsky: (to Shego) Looks like you missed your chance with my boy.
Shego: (sarcastic) Oh. You know, you're right. How will I ever live with myself?

    • (Drakken is about to use a sound wave ray)
Mrs. Lipsky: What is that, Drew?
Drakken: Uh. . . this is for on-the-street!
Shego: And where would the street be?
Drakken: (Nervous) Zip the lip, Shego. . .

    • Mrs. Possible: That was awesome!

    • Mrs. Stoppable: I want a clean garage.
Ron: I can't do the impossible mom, that's more of a Kim thing. Ooh, what if I glue macaroni onto a coffee can and then, like, spray paint it gold?

    • Shego: So your mother has no idea you're trying to take over the world?
Drakken: She'll know when I succeed, won't she?

    • Shego: I'm confused.
Drakken: And that's okay. Those feelings are normal.

    • Drakken: Where's the hovercraft? I know we parked it up here somewhere..
Shego: Yeah, but at that end of the train.
(We see the self replicating syntho-plasma eating away at the back of the train)
Drakken: Oh great, the gelatinous mass ate it. Do you know how much that thing cost? It wasn't cheap!

    • Drakken: Behind this door is the most secret substance on the planet!
Shego: Wait, if it's so secret, how do you hear about it?
Drakken: Online chatroom. You should really spend more time on the internet, Shego.
Shego: No thanks, I have a life.

    • Shego: Here comes the train-
Mrs. Lipsky: Open the station! (shoves spoon in Drakkens mouth)

    • Mrs. Lipsky: What did I teach you about playing with your food?
Drakken: (sighs) My food is not a toy, it's for my tummy to enjoy.

    • Mrs. Dr. Possible: You were a big help in there Kimmie. You didn't even faint!
Kim: Yeah, I was too busy throwing up.

    • Drakken: Kim Possible and her. . . sister?
Mrs. Possible: Is he hitting on me?
Kim: Nah, sidekicks just really confuse him.

    • Mrs. Dr. Possible: Oops, I guess that's not what Ron would have done.
Kim: You've never seen Ron in action, have you?

    • Mrs. Lipsky: Don't you think it's time you meet a nice girl? (points at Shego)
Shego: Oh, um. . . ick.

    • Mr. Dr. Possible: When's the last time you two shared some quality mother-daughter bonding?
Kim: Well there was that one time. . .
Mrs. Dr. Possible: No Kimmy, we had to cancel that, remember?

  • NOTES (1)

  • ALLUSIONS (4)

    • Dexter's Lab:

The big red "D" on Drakken's entrance door is reminiscent of Dexter's big red "D" logo on all of his stuff.

    • Tetris:

During one of Ron's garage scenes, the background music from Tetris can be heard.

    • Talk Radio:

In this episode, Drakken, whose real name is Drew Lipsky, poses as a talk-radio doctor. That's awfully close to Dr. Drew Pinsky, a real-life talk-radio doctor (on shows like "Loveline").

    • Tetris:

The boxes falling down when Ron is cleaning out the garage is remnent of the video game Tetris, where boxes come down from out of nowhere.
