This is Osamu Tezuka's Manga at it's best. The colors are bright and rich, and each scene blends together beautifully into each other.

Isao Tomita's musical score gives this episode it's magical and wondrous power that you feel while watching this episode.

The tone of this episode is a violent and sad one and full of morality and familial love.

First we encounter the violence of Snowene's capture from the hunters only to witness Caesar's death. It is a pretty intense scene for a children's cartoon, proving that Manga was actually aimed for a more mature audience.

Then we see Kimba's grief from his separation from his mother and her death. Snowene’s appearance in the stars to guide Kimba to shore was set to the most haunting of scores by Isao Tomita and the animation was flawless.

By far the best of Kimba, and if you only watch one episode in your life, let this be the one.

Wings that you can rely on.
Kimba, my little brave white lion."
