Episode Summary

Live Hard, Die Young and Leave A Good Looking Corpse
Zane, and up and coming rock superstar, plays Lillie's club, Haven. He is also one of the Kindred, of the Toreador Clan, and a reckless one at that! He later embraces a groupie that leaves the club with him, against her will. Julian is not happy with his actions and tells Lillie, his sire, to get control of her ‘child' before he causes trouble for all the clans.moreless

  • Zane=Morrison Wannabe

This episode was ok, but had some flaws. I could not figure out how Julian and Sasha's relationship turned so bad all the sudden. At the end of the previous episode they were hugging and declaring how they would always be related by blood no matter what clan they belonged to. This episode did a total 180 and they were at each others throats over everything.

Zane was a poseur who completely ripped off Jim Morrison, but they stated this very clearly at the end of the episode.

I liked the fact that once Frank captured Zane he realized humans couldn't deal with him and he gave him to Julian for the Kindred to punish.

I wish they would have had Grace go home with her father at the end.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • As Lillie is preparing to cut Zane's throat with her fingernail, she stands with her hand raised above her head for awhile. When she is seen from the front, her hand is balled into a fist with her index finger extended, but when she is seen from the back all her fingers are extended. This view alternates several times, and with each view her hand varies between fist and outstretched fingers.

    • Frank, Caitlyn and the emergency room doctor all state that Grace died of a severe neck laceration, but every shot of her neck shows that her "severe laceration" actually is more of a 2 inch long scratch and it certainly doesn't look life threatening. Clearly the makeup department did not read the script that closely. Julian's self inflicted forearm wound looks worse than the neck injury.

    • Lille insinuates that she and Julian saw Elvis perform onstage in Memphis in 1955.

    • When Frank bursts out the back door of Haven the wall is blank with only a light above him. When they show the back door the next morning there is a neon sign that says Haven next to the light. When Frank chases Zane out the back door that night the camera shows the wall again and there is no neon sign in the shot.
