  • Ouch

Well that was pretty awful. They set the story well, got everyone introduced and everything, but I'm hoping it gets better. I'd especially like it if C. Thomas Howell and most of the rest of the cast could refrain from chewing the scenery for a few minutes. Also, the Nosferatu are supposed to be hideous, to the point of not able to mingle with humans. A guy with a bald cap and a few veins popping out from his temples doesn't really scream "deformed". Ah well. I'm a sucker for vampires and I love the game, so I'll keep watching.moreless
  • An Excellent Debut!

    10
I was 29 and a mother of 3 young children when this series first premiered on TV. I decided to start watching the show because of the previews that I seen on TV advertising the show and knew that I would throughly enjoy the series. I am now 40 and thought then as I do now that this episode was an excellent debut for the series. This episode focused mainly on the Bruja and Gangrel clans and their traits. Other clans were mentioned but not made clear, yet. Even with some melodrama, this episode was still intriguing and fun to watch.moreless
  • A good start.

    7.3
I watched this show when it first premiered on TV because I was familiar with the role playing game it was based on. That was ten years ago, but I thought then and now that this was a good start for the series.

There are times, esp in the scenes between Luna and Alexandra, when the melodrama becomes quite obvious.

If you only have limited exposure to the game then you already know what each of the clans characteristics are abd they seem to make most of the Bruja/Gangrel traits fairly clear in this episode, not so much with the others clans just yet.

    Cheesy good fun.moreless
