  • BUT ALSO THERE'S A SUPER-COMPUTER?

King & Maxwell Series Premiere Review: Another Formulaic Addition to TNT's Ampersand Family (and That's Okay)

TNT's latest "dynamic duo" series is far from great, but also far from poor.

  • Episode Summary

    EDIT

Not your typical private investigators, Sean King and Michelle Maxwell are former Secret Service who use their unique skills and razor-sharp chemistry to solve cases ahead of law enforcement. King's former career ended when the person he was to protect was assassinated but now he's added a law degree which gives him a leg up to navigate the system. Former elite athlete Maxwell uses her brains and beauty to advantage. When Sean's lawyer friend is murdered under mysterious circumstances, he decides to represent the serial killer in hopes of finding what really happened. Working together, King and Maxwell find that there may be political repercussions to the case.

Reminded me very much of one of David's books. The book was better because there was more detail but the visual of the pilot movie was great enough for me. I can't wait for this series to be on DVD because I love David's books. I will definitely watch the television shows when they are on TNT channel.

If you love crime dramas and procedurals, and the kind of jokes they have in those shows then you probably loved King and Maxwell. It came off as a bit dull to me though, not much time spent in creating unique characters from those we see on all the other shows like this one.

I'd watch it again, but it needs to be more original than this.

Tenney and Romijn are so likeable and watchable. While this is much alike your other standard TNT buddy drama formula, it rises above them with wit and chemistry between the leads. I'm setting up a season pass.

For a pilot episode this show was Fantastic, i'm hooked in already. The teaming of Jon Tenney & Rebecca Romijn is pure genius, i really do hope Edgar Roy joins their team. To bad Megan you just wasn't smart enough. So Bunting was innocent, but not Foster & Quantrell & Megan was working for Foster & killed Ted Burgen & Hilary Cunningham. Love the Back & Forth Banter between King & Maxwell. Perfect 10 / 10. Thumbs Up TNT Again.moreless
