King of the Hill is another animation hit from Beavis and Butthead creator Mike Judge, who also voices the starring character Hank Hill, a propane gas salesman in the fictional town Arlen, Texas. Hank is often besieged by the idiosyncrasies of society, but he finds (some) serenity in his home-life with his wife, substitute Spanish teacher Peggy, his awkward son Bobby and his live-in niece-in-law Luanne Platter. Adding flavor to the ordinary dish the series serves are Hank's friends, divorcee military barber Bill Dauterive, paranoid Dale Gribble (with an obsession with Government conspiracy theories) and gibberish spouting Jeff Boomhauer.

On April 4th 2008, FOX renewed the series for a 13th season.

FOX has aired 253 of the 255 total episodes after the 13th season wrapped on May 17, leaving two episodes still yet to air. It's understood however that producer 20th Century Fox Television kept the show in production for four additional episodes (DABE14-DABE17) bringing its actual total to 259. The network nevertheless has yet to license those extra episodes, meaning as few as two or as many as six could still air.

    There is nothing about KoTH that warrants animation. It's like Fox sponsored a spin-off of the lamest character from Beavis and Butthead (which was a really really dumb show to begin with but good for a few chuckles) and Judge flushed it out to be a whole series of Texas flavored after-school specials about resisting pop culture and liberalism. Think 'Saved By the Bell' meets 'Little House on the Prarie'.

    Honestly. Most people who dislike this love boring cutscenses/flashbacks that go on for 5 minutes or like stupid sex jokes. King of The Hill was perfect. You could actually enjoy it, watch it with your family, and laugh. If you give this show a bad rating or dislike this comment, I've lost hope for America. 10/10

    I like beavis and butthead however this show isn't like beavis and butthead. After mike judge made beavis and butthead then he made this, I can't even see a resemblence in writeing or humor. The simpsons and futurama feel like its from matt groening,family guy and american dad feel like its from seth macfarlane. Beavis and butthead is a show thats stupid and funny and king of the hill doesn't. The reason why I don't like this show is because it's boring and it's dry humor, this just isn't my type of show. I like shows like futurama and south park. I just can't find this pathetic and boring show to be funny, it's just my personal opinion.moreless

    Man, I can't believe "King of the Hill" lasted 13 seasons and I'm very happy that it did. I just wish that it didn't get canceled because I really love this show but I heard that this show got canceled because of "Bob's Burgers". FOX had to put in a new timeslot and they canceled "King of the Hill" for that stupid and unfunny show "Bob's Burgers". I really want this show to come back. I blame you "Bob's Burgers" because you stink and the animation, voices, stories, and everything stinks. Everyone in this show is likeable and very funny. Hank, Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer are four friends who stand in the front yard drinking beer and talk. Bobby is Hank's son and Peggy is Hank's wife. Didi is also Hank and Peggy's niece. It's really hard to choose of who my favorite characters in this show are but I'm gonna probably say that Hank and Dale are my favorite characters. What I about this show is that the humor is clever and wacky all of the stories are pretty much well written. For 13 seasons, this show has brought me a lot of smiles because it would make me laugh but it is a shame to see this show leave. Overall, I'll never forget "King of the Hill" and you're a hundred times better than that stupid "Bob's Burgers". 10/10moreless
