Show Summary

Hank is a true Texan, who loves everything Texas, and hates most things non-Texan. He is a propane gas salesman in the fictional town Arlen, Texas. Hank is often besieged by the idiosyncrasies of society and often has to be the "hero". He has a wife Peggy who starts off as a Substitute Spanish Teacher, but picks up other jobs along the way, a son Bobby, who seems to be the polar opposite of Hank, and a live-in (for the first few seasons) niece-in-law Luanne Platter, who at times can be an airhead. Hank spends a great deal of time in front of his fence drinking beer with his odd friends, divorcee military barber Bill Dauterive, paranoid Dale Gribble (with an obsession with Government conspiracy theories) and gibberish spouting Boomhauer.

  • One of the best shows ever.

    9.5
Seriously. This show deals with finding humor in everyday life, and it succeeds at that.
  • This show is KING!

    9.0
While it did lose its heat towards the end of the series, even the newer ones managed to make me laugh somewhat, and in its hey day, it was incredible. What I liked most, was unlike Family Guy and Simpsons, its real. Things that happen in this show have potential to happen in real life, for the most part. The humour is great and often pokes fun at ignorant Americans as suppose to being crude and rude towards other groups of people, such as different races and cultures etc. like other adult comedies. There are characters that while eccentric, seem to be based on real personalities that you meet everyday. Overall it was a great show, that I have watched many times over, and will continue to watch over and over again. KOTH forever!moreless
  • One of the most boring cartoons ever made.

    3.0
Honestly, this is one of the most boring cartoons ever made. I don't see how people like it. I'm sorry, but this show is boring. Out of all the other animated sitcoms from Simpsons to Family Guy to South Park, this show doesn't live up to those shows humour. Here's why this show is uninteresting; okay, so, the show is about Hank Hill, the husband of Peggy Hill and father of their son, Bobby. Put in a bunch of Redneck characters who live in Texas and you have the show. The show deals with everyday life and situations and such but it is done so badly. The humour is just so dry in this show, I never laughed at it, I never got a chuckle out of it and I never cared for it. I tried to like this show but I just couldn't. Futurama took me a long time to like the show but this show has never gotten me to like it. Also, the characters are boring and not interesting. I really get annoyed when rednecks are portrayed the way they are in the media, like them inbreeding, that's just wrong. But at least when it's done on the Simpsons, it's funny (Cletas, I think that's how you spell his name, and his relative, I think.) Bobby at times is decent and is really the only good character at times in the show but isn't enough to save the show. He is voiced by the same person who voices Pajama Sam from Humongous Entertainment, Pamela Segall. The artwork is acceptable in the show. Most of the other animated sitcoms out there have those drawn looking backgrounds rather than painted backgrounds. I normally prefer painted backgrounds in shows rather than drawn backgrounds, unless it's Simpsons or Family Guy or all the other animated sitcoms out there. But yeah, the backgrounds looks decent enough and realistic. But then the animation is stiff-looking and uninteresting and just doesn't flow. Also, the show feels too realistic and that's what takes the humour away, if there is any humour which there isn't. It's probably just redneck humour. I swear, this one night back in 2009, I was watching an episode and I actually fell asleep through it and woke up to see that South Park had started, I mean, that's how boring this show is. The music is also really irritating, especially the theme song, dear god, it's too fast. The voice acting is acceptable as well, everyone sounds decent. I could go on about this show but I won't as I don't want to yell about it. It's a boring show and I just don't see how people like it. I think Beavis and Butthead is better than this show, that show actually got laughs out of me. I just know that this review will get thumbs down but then again this is just my opinion.moreless
  • Great Show

    10
King of the Hill is one of the best shows ever made. It's a shame that it was cancelled. I wouldn't hesitate to pay money to watch new episodes. I hope, that one day Mike Judge will resurrect the Hill saga. There is no way you can compare corny "Futurama" or offensive "Family Guy" to KOTH. Another great show cancelled to make room for a mediocre entertainment.
