After Hank returns from the permit office and he and Bobby are in the car, Hank has his seat belt on and his hands on the steering wheel. However in the very next shot his seat belt is completely off without moving his hands.
When Hank Hill decides to take his son, Bobby, to shoot a deer at a local recreational resort named La Grunta, Hank shows Bobby what is supposedly a La Grunta brochure, but the description at the bottom-right of the brochure states that the text therein is referring to the "Shropshire House Inn & Resort."
Tagline: "I'm drivin' the hell out of this truck!" - Bobby
When Bobby has the deer drawn on the cardboard box, in the shot from the kitchen you can see a heart drawn on it with a fruit pie stuck to it. Then it goes to the outside shot and it shows Bobby drawing the heart and putting on the fruit pie.
Dale's bug on top of his van is right side up in this episode, whereas it is usually upside down.
After Hank and Bobby return from the La Grunta hotel, Hank parks the car halfway into the garage. But when Peggy washes the blood from the deer off the front of the truck, the truck is now on the driveway, away from the garage.
At the end of this episode Bobby is driving Hank's truck and it is clearly an automatic, however in other episodes, such as the one where the truck breaks down and Hank must get a new one, the truck is claearly a standard.
Bobby: Wow, this is fancy. Where do the deer stay?
Hank: The deer don't stay in the hotel, Bobby. At least I hope not...
Connie: Good luck on your hunting trip Bobby.
Bobby: Thanks. Just so you know, I'm leaving a boy and coming back a man.
Connie: You're lucky; I'm leaving a girl and coming back a man.
Bobby: Everything looks so Christmasy. Everybody has a deer and I don't. Now I know how the Jewish kids feel.
The song Hank sings in the bathroom is "Travelin' Man" by Ricky Nelson. The song hear in John Redcorn's car is "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by Pat Benatar.
The reason Luanne's hair is shorter in this episode, whereas it was long in the previous two is because this was produced earlier then those ones, so she was still growing it out at this point.
Hank mentions that you can swim with the Dolphins at La Grunta. This becomes a major plot point in a later episode. He also mentions there being a museum of miniatures, which is also later brought up.
The episode title is a parody of the movie Good Will Hunting.
