Episode Summary

EDIT

Hank discovers that Dale and Boomhauer take yearly vacations together, and assumes that they are trying to avoid Bill. He invites his family and Bill along for a weekend at the beach, but during the trip, Hank realizes that his friends are actually trying to avoid him because he’s uptight and bossy. Peggy advises Hank to throw caution to the wind and have some fun with his buddies, but the results leave Hank and the guys overboard. Bobby buys a metal detector and Peggy and Bobby go looking for treasure, but get into a turf war with beachcombers.

  • I'm On Board With This Episode!

    9.0
This is a really funny episode, and has a great plot. Season 9 was hard to get through, but so far, Season 10 starts off great. I loved both Plot lines as each was using the characters in the best way, and it was just really entertaining. This episode reminded me of some of the classic KOTH episodes, because it's one that is funny even once you've seen it a number of times. The later seasons didn't have a lot of episodes like this, and its nice to know KOTH still had highs even towards the end.moreless

hank and bill find out dale and boomhauer take trips without them, and hank assumes it is too get away from bill. but hank soon realizes they are trying to get away from him because of his bossiness. hank tries to act differently, and has fun, until an accident leaves all 4 of them stranded in water.

peggy and bobby get a metal detector and try to have fun.

good episode, it was really funny and it was a good plot. no real complaints, a good episode, my overall grade for this episode would be an A+, a really good offeringmoreless
  • It was really funny.

    8.0
I really liked this episode of King of the Hill. I thought that it was really entertaining and it was well written. Hank was so mad after he realized that he was the one being avoided. I do have to admit that he is the most dull character of the 4, so it makes sense that he was being avoided. My favorite part of this episode had to be where they all get stranded in the middle of the water. I thought their entire experience over board was hilarious! It kept my attention and it was really a good plot. This episode was good and it was a good time consumer. Thank you.moreless
  • A gag packed epiosde for Hank/dale/Bill fans

    9.2
This episode is just fab, one of the top episodes of the later seasons for sure. The episode has several twists and turns that make it a thrilling epiosde. It has some great gags based on Hanks relationship with the guys, and it is briliant to have an episode like this. I always like it when they go outside on Arlen and this is a great example of that. In particular the part when they are in the sea at the end is really funny and this is certainly on of the more 'joke' based epiosdes. I recommend this episode. Thumbs up.moreless
  • This is great.

    8.1
This is probably the best episode from the newer seasons of the show, the plot being very simple aka great, was a nice way to start off the tenth season, with one of the simpliest stories of all time.

It cracked me up so bad, when Hank jumped off the boat and dunked Bill into the water, then again when they realised they couldn't get up the boat and Dale trying to rocket up and landing far away from the boat saying, "I must of gone over to the other side of the boat." This plot was really hilarious.

If I'm saying this is such a great episode, you may wonder, "Why the heck is it rated that low?" Well it's because of the peggy and bobby plot, this was so stupid and pointless and boring, it's just pure filler. Infact the only funny part of it was when the guy kicked sand at bobby and bobby yelled out "Mum!!!" In horror.moreless

Bill: (high-pitched, feminine voice) With these new maxi pads I feel confident enough to ride a bicycle

    • Hank: They're looking for sunken treasure, for god's sakes.
Peggy: I-I know it sounds a little stupid, but that's not the point-- don't you wanna hang out with your friends?
Hank: All right... as long as you think it's stupid, too.

    • Bill: Dale and Boomhauer are going away on the same weekend. Sometimes I wish I was a worm, so I could cut myself in half and hide in both their suitcases.
      Hank: That'll do, Bill.

    • Bobby: We're out of potato chips.
Peggy: Well, I'm sorry, but you'll just have to wait until I go shopping.
Bobby: Give me the list, I can go to the store.
Peggy: Sorry Bobby, but this isn't one of your video games where if you lose the grocery money you can kill someone and get it back!

    • Bill: So all of your trips have been a lie? You were fishing? Well if your goal was to make Bill Dauterive look like a fool, then you have succeeded!
Dale: Bill, you have to believe me, that wasn't our goal! It was just a byproduct!
Bill: Well, I won't stand for it!
(Bill begins to walk away but accidentally trips over Dale's vacation supplies)
      Dale: Again, byproduct.
