  • Le Le is Here!

This was a pretty good episode, although not super funny. It was nice to finally see Luanne's mom as she had been mentioned so many times before. I loved Hank's reaction to Bill and Leanne having sex in the garage. It was probably the best part of the episode. I would have to say, what made this episode was the plot, more so than the humour. I often found, especially in the later seasons, while the show is not always hilarious, it is at least entertaining, which is usually not the case for comedy shows. Comedy shows that aren't funny are usually quite boring, but KOTH can still be good, even when not funny, and this is a good example of that.moreless
  • This episode features a rare dynamic between Luanne and Bill. Luanne's mother gets released from prison and heads directly for the Hill house.

    8.3
This episode showcases the fact that folks should always listen to the voice of reason: Hank Hill. When Luanne's mother comes to find her, Hank immediately rolls UP the welcome mat. She needs a place to live until she gets back on her feet, but for some reason she doesn't opt to return to the trailer park (where her trailer home is located). Luanne gets her way and moves her mother right into Hank's garage the very first night, Bill later runs into Leanne there with his entire stash of alcohol. Little does he know, Leanne cannot control herself in the presence of the tempting fridge full o' beer.

    *******************SPOILERS*****************

If you know anything about the history of Luanne's parents, you'd realize that access to alcohol is the very last thing Leanne Platter needs in her new life. In prison, she changed her ways and stopped drinking but with Bill as her new boyfriend and her husband no where to be found, she goes back to her old ways real quick! At the first sign of difficulty in her relationship with Bill, she starts drinking all over again. Too bad, because poor Luanne was really looking forward to having a new stepdaddy in Bill. Things escalate into violence and stupidity and no one's happy again until Leanne drunkenly skips town in a stolen vehicle! Tune in for a wild ride..moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (8)

    • When Leanne first arrives, she kisses Luanne, and gets red lipstick marks on her. Later, when Leanne and Luanne are near the bathroom and Leanne says "I knew you would understand" (about Bill), she kisses Luanne, but there are no marks from her lipstick. Even if she mostly kissed Luanne's neck, at least part of some of the marks should show when Luanne turns to leave (after talking to Peggy).

    • The type of BBQ Bill is using looks like it is charcoal. Hank would never let Bill use a charcoal grill.

    • There was no tagline for this episode as it had a closing scene over the credits instead of the theme song.

    • In the scene where Leanne and Bill are in the garage after their shopping spree, Bill has his socks off, but there are no lines down the centre of the foot to indicate toes (you can tell it is suppose to be his feet and not shoes by the shape). Then when Leanne walks over he has one foot with just a sock and another foot with a shoe on as well.

    • By looking at the receipts shown (and doing some math) it appears that the sales tax in Arlen is 8%.

    • When you see Hank and the gang stand in their usual spot, Bill has a black eye and a bruise. In the next shot it's gone.

    • As an active duty soldier in the U.S. Army, Bill would receive free medical care and medication. Therefore, he would have been able to continue his fungus treatment and spend his money carelessly.

    • Hank pulls off Bill's sock and shoe but in the next shot of his feet, he has his sock on.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Bill: The only person I showed my toes to was my ex-wife. She used them against me in the divorce.

    • Bill: We're engaged.
Leanne: It was supposed to be a surprise! (Punches Bill in the arm and burps) I need a smoke. (Walks away)
Bill: This is the happiest day of my life.

    • Dale: Poor Bill, He doesn't realize his lady is making a fool out of him.
John Redcorn: (places hand on Nancy's shoulder) I hear you man.

    • Bobby: You kicked her ass mom!
      Peggy: Yes, I did.
Bobby: But she's a better dancer.
Peggy: You do not know that.

    • Leanne: I just love a man that takes care of his feet.
      Bill: You only get two!

    • Hank: You can't just let her steal your truck, Bill. You've gotta call the police.
Bill: No, I think the best thing to do is just let her go. If she doesn't come back, that means we were never meant to be. And if she does come back, well... THEN I'll call the police.

  • NOTES (3)

  • ALLUSIONS (3)

    • The title of this episode is most likely a reference to Season 1 episode "Luanne's Saga".

    • The truck that Leanne comes out of has the label Tom Thumb on it. Tom Thumb is a fairy tale about a very short man (the size of a thumb).

    • Bill is shown grilling on half of a sliced open steel drum which seems to be labeled (A)GENT (O)RANGE. Agent Orange is the combination of the code names for Herbicide Orange (HO) and Agent LNX, one of theherbicides and defoliants used by the U.S. military as part of its chemical warfare program, Operation Ranch Hand, during the Vietnam War.
