King of the Hill

Season 5 Episode 15

Luanne, Version 2.0

Aired Sunday 8:30 AM Mar 11, 2001 on FOX

  • Trivia

    • Tagline: "The Vandergraafs!" -Hank

    • According to Hank, him and Peggy got married at 18.

    • As Luanne is becoming a "Born again" virgin, she yells after being dunked in the water. She yells "I'm a Virgin." and there is a shot to the left of two guys in the distance playing Frisbee look behind to their left. The shot sees them from the left meaning they were to Luanne's left. A few shots later Luanne is getting out of the lake and one of the guys who was playing Frisbee comes up to her from her right side and the other guy follows him. There wouldn't have been enough time in the scene for them to get all the way over to the right side of the field and not much reason to either.

    • Hank says that when he and Peggy were 18, they were already married. But in the Season 1 episode "Square Peg", Peggy tells Luanne that she "never even kissed" a boy until she was 20.

    • When Bobby is trying to convince Hank's friends to join the abstinence club, and when he asks Boomhauer he just stays silent. Bill then signs up and gets one of the cards Bobby has. As Hank starts to talk it goes to a close up of him but in the next shot Boomhauer is looking at one of the cards.

    • During the scene when Peggy catches Luanne sneaking into Rhett's van, Peggy's robe changes color - at first it is pink, but when Hank walks Luanne back to her house, Peggy's robe is blue, then in the next shot it's pink again.

  • Quotes

    • (trying to stop Luanne from marrying Rhett, whose last name she does not even know)

Peggy: I am just trying to protect you from your feelings, thoughts, and instincts

    • Luanne: I am going to be Mrs. Rhett Platter. I'm keeping my last name because most of them don't sound right, what is your last name anyway?
      Rhett: Vandergraff
Luanne: Vandergraff? Oh my God! I love it! (giggles loudly) Okay, I've changed my mind; I am gonna be Mrs. Luanne Vandergraff!
Peggy: (to Hank) She didn't even know his last name!

    • Hank: (regarding Zack's bloodshot eyes) Well, at least we can't blame his red eye color on the photograph.

    • Luanne: Let me try, since we're dating I get Zack's employee discount. (approaches the counter) So what'll it cost me?
Zack: Twelve fifty. Sorry, it's not gonna work out Linda.
Luanne: Linda? That's not how you pronounce my name...
Peggy: Ooh... Luanne, honey. I think you've just been dumped.
Luanne: (tearing up) What? No! Ohh God, why? (runs out crying)

    • Hank: Peggy, I can see your whatnots.

    • Luanne: The guy at the rental place said that most of the women who wore this dress are still married.

    • Rhett: I thought people only had sex in bed. Or the shower. That could work, right? Or is there enough room to lie down?
Luanne: Oh, real virgins are so cute.

    • Hank: This is my niece Luanne. She loves bowling and self-control.

    • Hank: All right, everyone here who hasn't had pre-marital sex gets ice cream!

    • Reverand Stroup: Mr. and Mrs. Hill, are you willing to be Luanne's virginity sponsors?
Hank: Sponsors? You mean like what the drunks have?
Reverand Stroup: Mr. Hill, a celibacy sponsor is like an offensive linesman for the virgin quarterback. The other team is going to be coming on strong. So Luanne needs you to get in there and block, or she might very well get sacked.
Hank: Well, that's not in the Bible, but it should be.

    • Peggy: Hank, I cannot change the past. I can only try to convince you that you are overreacting to it.

    • Hank: You mean you're not . . . ?
Luanne: Uncle Hank, I quit being a virgin the first time I had sex.
Hank: Nobody likes a quitter, Luanne.
