Peggy tries to reach the pinnacle of real estate success by selling houses in the exclusive neighborhood of Arlen Heights, but she winds up selling pots door to door. Meanwhile the real Rusty Shackleford pays a visit to Dale. I thought that this was an excellent episode of "King of the Hill". I watch this show almost every night on Adult Swim BUT yet, I don't review the episodes. I haven't an episode of this show since June 2011 which was during the summer so I figured I can start reviewing episodes of this show more often so I'll start off with this one. I laughed so hard watching the episode. The storylines were very clever and the humor was just awesome to laugh at. This show is really good at humor and it's episodes like these that make me wonder why some people actually think this show is boring. Dale's plot probably made me laugh the hardest. There were so many incredibly funny parts in this episode such as when Dale told Hank and the others "I was never here" then climbs up the tree and says "Can someone pass me a beer?", Dale throughout this entire episode just trying to hide from the real Rusty Shackleford, Dale telling Penny "Open Kitchen? the one with the vegetable peelers? those things are awesome", Dale and Penny doing their pretend suicide act which led them to the shed and then they did the explosion then that lady opens the door and sees that Dale and Penny are hiding in the bottom which makes Dale say "We should act like ghosts", and many more brilliantly and incredibly hilarious parts. Overall, an excellent episode of "King of the Hill" with tons of excellent humor and two excellent storylines except Dale's storyline was a little more enjoyable to me. 10/10moreless
  • Dale gets a visit from Rusty and Peggy gets into trouble with Cozy Kitchen.

    9.5
I liked this episode, but found Peggy's storyline a little annoying. Alot of the episode center around her being a idiot, which is funny, but she is getting more and more annoying. She is in fact becoming a unlikeable character that I want to see less of. Dale's storyline with Rusty was in fact funny and so was Dale and Peggy trying to fake murder-suicide. Overall the episode was good, but the writers need to center around Hank or Bobby more or at least Peggy less.moreless
  • This was a good episode.

    9.5
I really thought that this episode was going to be a series classic due to them showing Rusty Shackleford but I thought it was still a great episode it would have been better if it was focused on Dale instead of Peggy. Because I don't like seeing her as real estate agent I have only seen her as a teacher. I liked how Peggy and Dale thought up of a way how to pretend to kill themselevs and the whole fight thing was going on and the they blew up funny. This has been a great season it is on of my favorites.moreless
  • Peggy begins selling appliances door-to-door, but finds out she isn't as sucessful as she had planned. Meanwhile, the real Rusty Shackleford finds Dale to confront him on his identity theft.

    9.2
When the Hills and the Souphanousinsphone get invited to a party in the ritzy Arlen Heights neighborhood by Ted and Cindy Wasonasong, Cindy talks Peggy into taking over her job as door-to-door Cozy Kitchen Appliance salesperson for Arlen Heights. Peggy is the perfect candidate for pyramid schemes and other scams (like selling Meta-Life in the fourth season’s "Bill of Sales" or being conned out of retirement money in the sixth season’s "The Substitute Spanish Prisoner").

While most people hear about a "job" like this and realize no sane person would let an anonymous person armed with meat cleavers and skillets into their house, Peggy thinks it’s an opportunity, and proceeds to corner various residents of Arlen Heights. In her mind, she’ll sell them kitchen wares, and then she’ll sell their house. However, she runs into one tiny problem – no one wants to buy anything from her, and she even gets a door slammed in her face. Unfortunately, Cozy Kitchen keeps sending Peggy more stuff to sell, despite the fact she hasn’t sold the stuff she already has.

Meahwhile, the real Rusty Shackleford, who isn’t dead as Dale believed, tracks Dale down to settle Dale’s theft of his identity. Dale, thinking Shackleford is going to kill him, tries to avoid him and hides in the Hills’ yard. When Peggy won’t be let out of her Cozy Kitchen contract, Peggy and Dale run into each other hiding in a bush while avoiding a Cozy Kitchen representative and Rusty Shackleford and hatch a plan to fake their deaths to get out of their scrapes.

Dale and Peggy’s murder-suicide plot is reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Strangers on a Train” – the back-and-forth, “you solve my problem and I’ll solve yours” is hysterical, especially since Dale obviously dislikes Peggy and wishes he had Hank all to himself, while Peggy thinks Dale is a nut job obsessed with killing small animals. Their fake suicides were laugh-out loud funny, especially when they This is one of the best Peggy-Dale pairing plots, on par with their struggle to escape a forest fire in the ninth season’s “Gone With the Windstorm” (“I always dreamed I’d die with you, Nancy! Peggy, you die over there.”) and their attempt at winning a taxidermy competition in the tenth season episode “Hank’s Bully.”

And the appearance by the snotty Wasonasongs was great - Kahn: Maybe we can get together at your beach house!

    Ted: Maybe.

Kahn: Let's set a date! I have calendar right here!

Ted: Please do not make this awkward.

Kahn’s need to please the pair is as desperate as ever, as is his desire to get into Nine Rivers Country Club, the Wasonasongs exclusive country club Kahn has been obsessing over since the sixth season episode “Man Without a Country Club”, but even he won’t stoop to buying up Cozy Kitchen appliances in hopes of gaining favor.moreless

  • QUOTES (6)

    • (Dale has just shown the guys the book he checked out from the library on creating explosions)
Hank: You could get in a lot of trouble for this. I'm pretty sure the government keeps track of books like this... at least I hope they do.

    • Peggy: (to Hank) If you have a better idea than murder-suicide, I'd like to hear it!

    • (Bill, Boomhauer and Hank are in the alley when the real Rusty Shackleford comes looking for Dale)
Rusty Shackleford: I really need to talk to Dale - I'm trying to get a small business loan, but the bank thinks I'm the same guy who skipped town on a string of failing alpaca farms!
Hank: Well, if we see him we'll give him the message.

    • Hank: So wait, how does selling kitchen appliances help you sell houses?
Peggy: Cozy Kitchen gets me in the door, then Peggy the realtor sells the house!

    • Hank: Why do we have to watch a foreign movie? If it was any good they would have made an American one!

    • Dale: Gentlemen, do not be alarmed if you hear any loud noises coming from my property over the next few days - I'm just blowing stuff up!
