King of the Hill

Season 12 Episode 6

Raise the Steaks

Aired Sunday 8:30 AM Nov 18, 2007 on FOX

  • Trivia

    • Tagline: "It's the best steak I have ever eaten." -Hank

    • Boomhauer does not appear in this episode.

    • When Kahn is talking to Hank as he is putting up the lattice, at one point it shows Hank put up a new piece, and then three taps are heard. Then the shot moves to Hank's side and the lattice is up with no one holding it. No way three taps put in more than one nail (at least not with how close together they were).

    • When Hank and Appleseed go to steal the animals, Hank ducks below the fence bar, to get to the other side. When he is by the cow and it shows the fence behind him, there is a bar lower down, that Hank couldn't possibly of gone under as he didn't go down far enough. It's as if he walked right through it.

    • When Hank asks people how their steak is, it is clearly shown that there are whole uncut/eaten steaks on the plates, but the people are giving comments and are chewing.

  • Allusions

    • Hank: With great meat, son, comes great responsibility.

This is a take on the line "with great power comes great responsibility", which is said by Uncle Ben to Peter Parker in the Spider-Man comics.

    • Dale: He's like a human Lassie!
When Dale calls Appleseed a human Lassie he is referring to the dog, from the show of the same name, who would inform people through barking and gesturing that someone was in trouble.

    • The title of this episode is a play on the phrase "raise the stakes".
