  • Hanks You Very Much For This Episode!

    9.0
Another great Thanksgiving episode with the Hill family. They get stuck in an airport, which, face it, is not the most original comedic plot line, but this episode makes it work. I agree with cactus, when I look at what this episode is about it sounds like an instant borefest but it turns out to be one of the funnier episodes thus far in Season 4. Season 4 so far has been a let down compared with Season 3, but it is still pretty good and this one is one of the reasons. Hank does a great job, and all the supporting characters have funny moments in them too. I like it when all the characters get a shining moment and aren't just stuck in the episode for the heck of it. It also had a lot of recurring characters that have funny scenes, like Kahn, and Nancy and John Redcorn in the car. Overall a very good episode.moreless
  • A funny episode.

    8.5
This was actually much better than I thought that it was going to be. In fact, I actually thought that this was one of the better shows of the series, but I have to give it an 8.5, for the sole reason on the plot. The acting was okay, which says a lot for a cartoon. It also was well written and the story was okay. The comedy was really good, but the plot is ehat brought this episode down a bit. I really thought that it was funny to watch everyone stranded at the airport and for everyone to have their own little adventures. Thank you.moreless
  • The Hills and their neighbors are stuck in a airport on what Peggy calls "Thanksgiving Eve"

    9.6
The Hill, the Soupanousaphones, the Gribbles, Bill, Boomhower, and John Redcorn are all going places for Thanksgiving. When they get to the airport, weather causes a delay. They are all stuck there. Hank, Bobby, Peggy, and Luanne try to find ways to get on the plane, but they don't. Finally, the weather clears up and they can go. But, a dog mistakes Hank's turkey for a bomb, and the bomb squad blows it up. Then, the bad weather moves back in and the flight is delayed, again. Finally, everyone comes together and decide to have their own Thanksgiving since they are together. Using leftover pizza (from Kahn) peanuts (from Boomhower) and a few other things, Peggy says she can make a Apple Brown Betty.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (6)

    • Luanne in one scene tells Hank a man asked if she would like to join the mile high club and when she tells him she is facing Hank. In the next shot she is standing in the same position but has turned around and is facing away. There was not enough time for her to move between shots.

    • It was established in the previous episode that Bill is the last surviving male Dauterive (besides Gilbert-who is his cousin), so, while he may not be the brightest bulb, it doesn't make sense for him to try and convince the Hills he had an uncle.

    • Tagline: (sniffs) "I hate Thanksgiving!" -Bill

    • In the scene where Hank is talking to Peggy's mom at the airport with the pay-phone, at the beginning of the scene the sign above the pay-phones says "Telephones" but at the end of the scene it says "Telephone".

    • When Hank and Luanne are looking at the flights being delayed one by one on the video screen Albuquerque is mispelled as Albequerque.

    • At the airport they say that there are flights leaving Love Field for Montana. This is impossible due to the Wright Amendment. Only flights going to one of the 5 bordering states are allowed to fly out of Love Field. Since Montana doesn't border Texas - no flights would be leaving for there from Love Field Airport.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Bobby: Dad, I know you said to try, but I can't eat this. It's salad!
Peggy: Hank, the boy needs protein or he'll pass out. Now break open that box! Thanksgiving will go on with a one-legged turkey.
Hank: One-legged turkey? I'm not even gonna dignify that with a response. Other than "Shame on you."

    • Hank: We're not animals. We'll wait in line like everybody else.
Peggy: Hank, the ability to cut ahead in line is what separates us from the animals!

    • Dale: Hey, do your people even celebrate Thanksgiving?
      John Redcorn: We did. Once.

    • (Dale is finally rescued after he was locked out of the airport when he left to have a cigarette)
Dale: The only thing that kept me going was my will to smoke again! And the ashtrays from an Air Italia flight.

    • Luanne: Uncle Hank, some guy just asked me if I want to join the Mile High Club. Can you get me an application?

    • Peggy: Hank Rutherford Hill, is your middlename 'Naive'?

  • NOTES (2)

    • Even though it's animated, the interiors, exteriors, layouts and signage are remarkably similar to that of the real DFW airport.

    • Peggy's line, "the day before Thanksgiving is, in my opinion, one of the busiest travel days of the year" is an allusion to the episode "Nine Pretty Darn Angry Men" where Peggy says "the day after Thanksgiving is, in my opinion, the busiest shopping day of the year". Both of these are obviously more than just her opinion.
