By the shows standereds I would say this is just below the ussualy high standereds. However as the score justifies this is still a good episode. I have never been a massive Peggy fan (but who is) although I do think she has been unfairley treated by many fans of the show (on this board in particular). I still prefer he to Marge, but in this epiosde she is at her weakest. In combination with a poor bobby performance, and a strange to say the least storyline, this episode faulters. However Hank is funny and some nice jokes make this episode wortg saving.
Jealous of the attention that Hank's prized garden gets, Peggy tries to grow some plants. When all the plants die, she instead buy a garden gnome, much to Hank's dismay. A simple but nice episode...
I really enjoyed watching this episode. It has quite a simple but enjoyable plot, which reminded me in many ways of some of the early greats.
Peggy is her usual competative self as she struggles to find something as popular as Hank's beloved lawn. Hank in return is dismayed when she brings home a not particularly attractive garden gnome.
There is a nice, subtle gag at the end, when Jospeh, after spending the episode racing around on a power bike (he won it from Dale in a poker game!), walks past in the background on cruthes.
If Season 9 offers up some more stories as likeable as this one, maybe it won't turn out to be so bad after all. Not one of the show's most complex of plots, but a nice one.
