  • A good episode because the owner's had absolutely zero ego and were open to change.

Gordon Ramsay visits this Chicago restaurant that is apparently suffering from tremendously slow service. Chef Ramsay instantly bonded with the owners, a middle-aged couple that had put everything into the restaurant. His discoveries after his initial tasting were shocking. The executive chef, Pinto, was using leftover food that in some cases was almost a week old. He also had a bizarre concept of fresh-frozen for his meats. Ramsay's reaction to that was great, calling Pinto a "certified jerk." I thought Ramsay was dead on in his recommendation to stop using the serving trains to deliver dishes to customers. It was nice to see this restaurant make a pretty good turnaround. It was also great to see Pinto left the restaurant. At one point a waiter named Brian spoke sternly to the owner. The owner said afterwards that he almost fired Brian right there on the spot. Thank goodness he didn't. The waiter was only speaking that way because he had so much passion about the restaurant doing well, and could not keep his frustration in any longer. Passionate employees are an asset, and Brian appears to be just that.moreless
