    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (5)

      • The timing of several shots of the countdown clock on the bomb seems incongruous with the noon deadline. When the bad guys check the bomb in the trunk, the countdown is at 12:53, which would be about 11 p.m. the day before the bomb is set to go off. However, it's broad daylight outside the parking garage.

      • When KITT does his big jump into the prison yard to get Michael and Peter McCord out, the driver's side window is rolled all the way down. Considering how the guards immediately begin shooting at the three of them, this seems more than a little dangerous for Michael. Yet neither he nor KITT seem to notice or care that he is in full danger of being shot and killed.

      • When Michael confronts Eric Fenton, it is night, with a clock on Eric's desk displaying 7:49. When Michael reports to Devon, he bursts in like he's just had the conversation, but it's now morning and Michael is wearing a different shirt.

      • While the show has used real and copycat California license plates before, cars in this episode noticeably have generic license plates.

      • At the episode's climax, it is stated they have 8 minutes to travel to a location 45.7 miles away. That would require an average speed of 342.75 MPH, faster than KITT's presumed maximum of 300 MPH with season four's Super Pursuit Mode.

    • QUOTES (5)

    • NOTES (2)

      • The German episode title is "Der Erpresser", meaning "The Extortionist". The French episode titles are "Souvenirs d'enfance" ("Memories of Childhood") and "La Promesse" ("The Promise"). The Czech episode title is "Bratrova pomsta", meaning "Brother's Revenge".

      • When avoiding pursuers, KITT rotates his license plate, James Bond style, from KNIGHT to KNI 667. It's the only time in the series that this function is used, and is deleted from sydicated re-runs.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • The title of the episode comes from Genesis 4:9, where Cain, after murdering his brother Abel, tries to cover it up by demanding if he is his brother's keeper.
